I'm happy with Ings at the right fee, but I do have some concerns.
Currently we have Sturridge, Balotelli, Lambert and Borini, but I expect Lambert and Borini to leave.
If my expectations are correct and Ings also joins we will have Sturridge, Balotelli, Ings and Origi.
That is not bad. In fact its a clear improvement as 3 of the players have a perfect style for our system and the other offers a good alternative options.
But I would prefer some one better than Ings and Origi among those options, like Lacazette or Aubemeyang. If we signed Ings and some one better I feel we would be just stock piling players which I dont like, and Ings would just end up frustrated through a lack of games. Its also puting out a lot of excess wages. Have 5 strikers competing for 1 or 2 spots could also reduce young players chances of a game.
The people in change of signings and money at LFC are very careful and cautious about these things so I think there is no way they would let the player stock pile form. So would signing Ings mean no big striker signing?
