A 60,000 stadium would cost more than that. Arsenal paid about £600m and that was ten years ago. Plus there are the community improvements to consider too.
I dunno.. no idea. Theres london prices and rest of world prices so ive no idea. We were quoted by the pie in the sky lot at 400 or so?
Suppose it depends on fancyness of plans and price of steel and all sorts If the site itself needa clearing and all sorts of services moved or ended lije gas and sewers etc that would be a right money pit. Ours was in effect green field
You manage to employ the A-Team? Make a stadium out of a few old tyres, a wooden gym bench and a bag full of cotton wool?
When though.... our main stand just cost 150mil. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stanley_Park_Stadium I give you the white elephant. Wrote off 50mil in stadium costs and mooted 400mil cost... prob complete tosh
The annual cost will depend on the funding method and the timescale set for repayment. He could build the stadium via a holding company and lease it back to the club over 99 years for all you know at present, so you can't make definitive statements like that mate.
It was a cheap identikit effort. 4x2 tier stands and a basic design. You can't use the Emirates as the yardstick. It'd be somewhere in the £350-400m region imo
I know The Emirates isn't a yardstick but £100m is ridiculous, even you realise that! As MITO just said, it's cost Liverpool £150m to improve one stand. For the stadium alone, £350m to £400m is probably fair. But what about the other things such as community improvements and CPO's (if there are any)? Edit: of course, you could sell Goodison and naming rights for the new stadium to help fund it
He could if he had a spare 500mil... you lad hasnt all that many billions you know... Mr ambramovich has taken 10 years to start chelseas. It looks likely with them that they are looking for investemt out of china to make it happen. Perhaps even equity in club So..... you might do the same who knows... but my opinion on any club whos going to try all that and build a team to challenge is taking on too much. Do one or other imo. Long term everton having the stadium, revenue coming in and all the corporate **** is the good first step. All they need is the hardest part, wise investment in players and managing the team with a low net spend. The reality is spurs have done this most years. If everton dont think thats good enough for them....... well....
Cos thatd be the only way its not a real repayment and interest. If he borrows 500mil and gets interest to pay then gives it to you interest free he could end up playing what a bil or more back over 20 years time... so.... if abramovic isnt willing... hmmm... everton will need to pay its way in this surely? You couldnt get a bank to look at you under bill right? Well now they will.... but you cant assume you can do that and spend another 500mil on players too.
Who's said we'll spend £500m on players? Who said he'd leverage borrowings for the stadium build and not charge the football club for the interest? There's a number of different funding models he could use, he's a bean counter, so I'm sure he's capable of doing the sums himself mate
500mil is minimum required to compete at the top end. Look at what utd and city have spent just to knock by. If you dont spend it you wont get to cl fast.. which means you might as well do what i said... If hes not going to just hand you the cash then you might find him selling equity to fund... if you can tell me a model where you wont have a very big interest and capital bill please do enlighten me.
£500m would see them compete at "the top end" unless you just mean challenging for top four which I wouldn't consider "top end" myself
