He has been in the shadow of Ronaldo and now Bale, he needs to be the main striker, not merely part of the Ronaldo distribution machine. Yup plus the fact Benitez has stated he intends to play Ronaldo as a No.9.

On top of that Real have launched a bid for Llorente (back up striker) and Reus. (Right Wing).

It seems Real will line up ...Bale--Ronaldo--Reus next Season.

Benzema was at his best at Lyon when he was the 'main man'. He could have that again at Arsenal. (well kinda.. Sanchez will still be our best player) I think it would be a good move for Benzema to try and facilitate a transfer to Arsenal.

I think the only way we have a chance of getting Benzema this window is if those rumours you mentioned come true. There are rumours of Reus, but the price tag seems to be a huge 60m region. I have also heard about Ronaldo being used down the centre, and we know how much tinkering Benitez likes doing. Apart from Llorente, which i haven't heard of any rumours, those two additions could possibly trigger Benzema handing a transfer in.

There was a rumour that Llorente will be Man Utd's surprise signing

Big gamble taking Diaby. I can only imagine that he's done , that's why we let him go. Unfortunately for him, his body is no longer able to support him playing football at the highest level. Unless he finds a miracle cure, I can't see how he will play more a few games before breaking down again. I hope I'm wrong and he is able to finish off his career playing some competitive football.

There is absolutely no way Benzema is leaving Real Madrid this season. He's the president's favourite player, he has good chemistry with his team mates and Madrid don't look to be in the market for a #9. I just can't see it happening.

Earlier, I said Benzema wouldn't be a massive upgrade on Giroud and I got slaughtered for it. Do I think Benzema is a better player than Giroud? Absolutely.

But if we are judging on the last few seasons, Giroud has improved vastly whilst Benzema has regressed. I do believe that's because he's had to play second fiddle to Ronaldo. I believe in the hugely unlikely event he came to Arsenal, it is possible he would flourish and show the huge potential that he did at Lyon. I'm just saying he's not as good as everyone makes him out to be.

I would be very pleased and extremely shocked if he did come to Arsenal. Just don't expect him to light the league on fire instantly like Diego Costa did.

I'll give credit where it's due, if Wenger does manage to prise away Benzema or add a truly world class striker to the squad this season, many of us will have no room to critique this transfer window.

Maybe it's something in the middle with a year loan with Roma having 1st option to buy, if we want to sell.

I've heard articles stating that both Wenger and Chesney say they want him to come back and fight for his position.
 
Benzema has left the Real preseason tour and tweeted 'next stop: the future' according to BBC via Twitter.

Intriguing....
