Even if there was a small remote a chance of Benzema coming to Arsenal, he would not be a massive upgrade on Giroud. Plus, he's turning 28 this year. Give me the Benzema of Lyon. This guy never reached his potential.
In fact, I know for a fact we would never get Benzema. This is just another ploy by Arsenal going after a target they know can't be obtained so they can say to the fans "see, we tried to go for a top striker but there was no one avaliable in the market."

Wow. I like Giroud but sorry, he isn't worth 130k pw period. There are plenty of strikers out there that would benefit hugely from the kind of creative force we have and do just as well, or even better. Giroud is fortunate that he is playing for a team of the calibre of Arsenal. No other top Euro side would touch him. He is lucky that we literally have no one else good enough challenging the CF spot.

A ghost from transfer windows past. He has not really progressed and become the top player many thought he would be by now, injuries have played a part but I think this move would be good for him.
I think it would be a good move for Benzema to leave Real and come to Arsenal. Not being biased, but he hasn't lived up to his early hype. He has been in the shadow of Ronaldo and now Bale, he needs to be the main striker, not merely part of the Ronaldo distribution machine. Our team is crying out for a new CF, it has been since Henry/Wright days. We've had many pretenders but no one has really taken the role over and made it theirs. As much as we like Giroud, he simply isn't the archetypal Wenger striker. He was a bargain buy, a man to do a job and he's done it very well. But I don't think Wenger intended on making him our main CF. Benzema was always the man, its just a shame that he slipped through the net...
think this guy is a defensive midfielder, this would make sense, as i doubt wenger would want to spend a lot of money, like morgan schneiderlin, 25+ million for a player would mean he would have to start, and coq deserves his place at the moment, taking in a young guy with potential to cover/challenge for the position would make sense.
Benzema would be a great signing.
He's 6'0 can hold the ball up, he's aggressive, has pace and can finish.
Also The Ozil/Benzema partnership has already proven to be a winning one. Also I've said it before but Benzema has always struck me as an EPL style forward. I think he is well suited to this league.
