Paulista. I sent it at the same time you posted your message and it confused matters. I'd be very surprised it we went for a 24 year old who couldn't play for us for a few seasons. Can't see him filling the "exceptional talent" criteria either.

David Luiz and Thiago Silva have been pretty unmovable from the Brazil CB position though, even though they shipped 7 against Germany in the WC

Sounds a little iffy with the Paulista transfer. Do we want to fanny about with a guy that might not be allowed to play for us this Jan? Sounds risky unless we can prove he's exceptional, which in itself will be difficult.
It will be very difficult to say he's exceptional when he's never been capped by Brazil at any level.
I wouldn't put too much stock in that. Brazils team selections have been horrific for the last 4-5 years.
Who knows? He could be another Squillaci or another Koscielny.

I'm just saying that if the club are going to use the exceptional talent argument surely it would be asked why he's never been capped at any level
