Last minute bid to steal the falcao deal? <whistle>

Realistically who could still move? Bony? Cavani? Schneiderlin? Loan deal for nasty sick? Some unknown defender?

Hope we add at least one player today...
 
This transfer window has been a shocker, so pretty much like usual really... even if we get a good name or two in now, it won't hide the fact that they would be last minute (ie. mildly unplanned) buys.

There must clearly be some quite low expectations being made of AW by the board, meaning there is very little pressure on him.

Either that or he is just incompetent at judging the strengths of his squad.

There are very good players available in the positions that we need.






Now I'm just waiting for AW to prove me wrong and leave me with egg on my face... well I can dream of that anyway... although I also agree with Not PC that I think the limiting factor of our ability to do well is currently AW and not any player. Even if we get Bender and Cavani we'd still play the same dull way.
 
Like I said, I think we've got a bit carried away with how much money was available. Chambers was obviously the last transfer money for this window

We've only had a net spend of 21 million over the summer. If that's all it takes for our transfer kitty to be done and dusted, then our financial model seems to suck balls.
 
It was hard enough to break the big teams down last season even with Giroud in the side, now we don't even have him and our only established striker is Yaya Sanogoals, God help us indeed. If these first few games are an indication of our struggle to get goals, then this is going to get really really ugly.

I reckon we definitely have enough money available to make another signing or two if the right deal can be done.

The problem with my local pub rumors is that they are often Sh.te but very occasionally spot on frustrating time for us all]
 
Know one knows our net spend because we don't know what we were paid for the Vela clause. Doubt it was more that about £8m though
