Poor ol' Gervy. He's been pretty useful for Roma this season but I doubt he'd be much of an upgrade on Nani.

Not sure Fabregas fancies a season of no CL football. Doesn't seem like the type that would be tempted by money either. Playing time, he can get with us linking up with exciting Ozil and the much improved Ramsey. At this particular point in time, we are a better option in every way than Manure.
Especially given that he'd be 28 by the time that Utd would be able to qualify for the CL again and then nearing 29 by the time that the CL would start again. He must be at a stage in his career now where he wants to be playing at the top level, not spending a couple of years waiting for that to happen.

I'd put the arrogance on hold for now, they have a top manager and a lot of spending money.
That's not arrogance Han, that's time progressing in a linear fashion...
Lack of Champions League football is a problem for them.
But Van Gaal is going to attract top names to the Club regardless.
My concern is that Wenger won't be willing to actually chase Fabregas.
We need a striker and the fact Bendtner and Park were released makes it seem highly likley we will be chasing one.
For me worse case scenario is Fabregas goes to United and we sign Loic Remy as our striker solution.
But Van Gaal is going to attract top names to the Club regardless.

Yeah a percentage of the sell on fee comes to us which will mean that whoever buys Fabregas will need to pay quite a lot to offset that loss for Barcelona.
I think Arsenal have done quite well with this clause. Either we get first option if he's up for sale, or we get a big percentage of any sell on, which would bump the price up for any competitor and hopefully price them out, thereby leaving us as the only realistic option to sell to.
Also as well as the sell on clause, if varce sell him to someone else then they still need to pay us the amount owing from when they bought him.
