Where else would you get to see ****ed up German beards ?![]()
Cesc has ruled out a move to Manchester United this season. So that's that rumour done for this season. We were in for him only to stop them from possibly getting him. Now that they are no longer interested...
I'm pretty sure we will be back in for him next year.
I'm sure you will, but every one else will too. You had the best chance this summer.
"Some clubs acted very early so the choices were reduced and there is more competition coming from France" --Wenger
**** me, other clubs being competent and acting briskly doesn't suit you, does it? Us doing the same was never an option, was it?
Early in the previous season when everyone was up in arms about Wenger I was the ****ing idiot that said with the same batch of players I'd take Wenger over ANYONE. Well that's never a fair comparison is it. Because I'd doubt other managers would let personal pride (invested in their "ideology" of football) get in the way of the club improving. They wouldn't have the same batch of players.
Everyone's gone mad with the Suarez thing. Even IF we do get Suarez, just go take a look at how thin our squad is. Plenty of other areas need improvement for which we could have done business during the last 2 months. No one expected us to grab a high-profile name in weeks. But where are the other needed additions to a squad?
As I've said before the club will come out this absolutely incompetent whoever we get during the coming weeks. If we do catch a break, it will have **** to do with how well we did things. ****'s sake the league starts in 9 days. Forget even quality additions or first teamers just look at the numbers on this ****ing squad, what is it 19 first team players once Chamakh, etc **** off?
Another early season to forget, it seems.
lol every couple of days you seem to have a total mental meltdown about our transfer activity - it's pretty amusing tbh
All of the quotes from Wenger, the players and the club are that we will be bringing in several new faces not just the Suarez deal. So you can chill out and wait and see what happens. You have literally no way of deciding already 3 weeks before the transfer window ends that no matter what we do it's "absolutely incompetent" since you have no idea whats actually going on.
We will VERY CLEARLY be bringing in more than one face. If you think the club will go into the season with no more signings or that the club are only trying to bring Suarez in then i think your being a little dim tbh![]()
I'm responding to the language Wenger used. He is setting up the narrative that there might not be that quality in the market anymore because other teams moved in quicker.
Our interests in other areas of the team aren't as high profile as Suarez, are they? What's the excuse then for not moving in quicker when the pool of quality to pick from is higher, paraphrasing Wenger?
Does the time needed for the squad to gel together count for nothing?
This isn't football manager and you can't decide exactly when you want your business to be done. There are all kinds of factors to take into consideration. In an ideal world we would have our signings done but the players we are in for obviously can't be sorted that quickly. That doesn't mean Wenger and the board are incompetant, you'd need far more information to draw that conclusion from slow transfer dealings when the majority of signings happen towards the end of the window.
Your taking half a line from a Wenger quote and using it to slate him. Isn't that the same interview where he says we are working hard to bring in a few different players and he thinks the fans will be happy with the players he thinks we will get?
Unless all the other players are as high profile as Suarez, no there is no excuse for all of them to be left this late. Every situation can be fragile now, with suitors coming in out of nowhere.
Spurs are a once every 10 years CL team, and they seem to be able to complete necessary signings without much fuss these days. They might be in for some more, but the ones they have made have reinforced them in areas they needed, and it was done on their terms. Leaving things late has way more risks involved.
I'm sorry but a club competent at transfers, aware of the need to improve the squad in most areas wouldn't let the situation come to this with 9 days left for the league to start...

Players don't have to be as high profile as Suarez to not be straight forward deals. What if our targets are waiting for us to qualify for the CL? What if we couldn't move for our targetsas we where waiting to see if Fabregas would be available and needed to keep the cash for that deal? What if the players we are going for had other issues, or where on holiday still after the confed cup?
