"The clubs have agreed fee in the region of 10m euros (£8.3m).

"The 26-year-old Spain international will now discuss personal terms and undergo a medical.

"Arsenal had been monitoring Monreal for some time but decided to make their move after Kieran Gibbs suffered a thigh strain in Wednesday's 2-2 draw with Liverpool."

He is described as Mr. Dependable. A proper full back who is strong and decisive in the tackle. He is very good defensively, but has enough pace to contribute to the attack. Was destined to become Spain's no.1 left back until the emergence of Jordi Alba.
