Monreal though would be a good signing, from what little i have seen of him he looks good. But to be honest getting 9 caps in this current spain team is pretty good!
 
He's a good player, but we need more than just him. Fact is, if Gibbs hadn't got injured, we wouldn't even be in for him.
 
Apparently we were going to sign him in a few months anyway, but Gibbs' injury has pushed it forward. I do think he's an upgrade on Gibbs, but like i said, we need more than just him. 4 hours left to find either a CF or DM.
 
Graham Hunter on Sky Sports News said that this deal was agreed to happen in the upcoming summer, but has been brought forward.
 
I think we would have gone for him in the summer anyway to replace Santos but with Gibbs injury we have made the signing now. As for him being cup tied for the CL - so what? So we shouldn't sign him and should go for someone else because thsi guy won't be able to play in our two fixtures against Bayern? I' not too bothered, i'd play Verm out left and kosc/mert in the middle for the bayern games. We need to sort out our league position anyway and a reliable LB will be a fantastic addition to the squad.

Everyone was desperate for us to sign a LB in the summer and leading up to January...and even more so now Gibbs is injured... Yet some people will try to find the flaws!

I'd still like a Striker to come in as well, or a DM... or both.

But i'm happy we seem to be trying to get stuff done at least! Maybe Wenger was counting on getting Villa and now we will wait until the summer to sign him rather than bringing in another striker today?
 
I've just got home from work and on the way home I saw Messi and his entourage buying some Kebabs from the Cypriot take away down the road, apparently they we're just getting some dinner in after a last minute flight from Barca before heading up to London Colney to meet with Wenger and Gazidis <ok>

If that's the case then fair enough but we shouldn't even be in a situation where we have an injury prone LB and a fat inept deputy one. And what about our goalie situation.
 
What about our goalie situation? We have a good first choice kepper and decent back-up. There are other areas of the squad that need strengthening before we worry about getting another keeper!
 
Radio 5 live are reporting that we have signed Nacho Monreal for £8.5m <ok>
