Thats your argument NOW that I called it/you out.

Fine, if that's your view, of course winning the title puts Arteta in an elite club from that perspective. But that has never been the argument and you know it !!

You have had a bee in your bonnet because I still don't rate Arteta, and I don't, the Prem in a season of dire quality doesn't prove to me he is a good manager, just like I was unconvinced Slot was a good manager. And I know none of you rate slot but you are coming yo me being total hypocrites just because its Arsenal, gtfoh with that foolishness.

When he wins something again he will get ratings from me, simple.
Slot took over a team that was literally top of the league with a few games to go the season before.
There is no comparison to what Arteta achieved, turning a club in free fall and without hope into champions.

It's mental that a manager who took us from midtable rabble to champions in 5 years doesn't get any respect.

Utter foolishness right there.

Yeah **** that <laugh>

That’s got Man Utd overpayment written all over it

They won't get anything close to this. They have zero leverage. They're a Championship club who need to sell and the player wants to go. I'd be amazed if he goes for more than £55m.

He is not even worth £55m. Good player, but we need to stop the nonsense.
We don't even need him.
What we need is a more creative midfielder that is good under the press, can hold off opponents, retain the ball and make good decisions with passing, as well as beat players. We don't have one of this players - a Bernardo Silva type.

Precedents have been set! When you pay £50m for Madueke and £60m on a **** Havertz (yes he was total **** when we bought him) you have set yourself up to pay crazy sums from here on.

Havertz was not 'total ****' when we bought him - that is just the absolute ****e that was chatted by some Arsenal fans when we signed him, egged on by chavs. When you look over Havertz Chelsea spell, he joined considered as the best young player in the world, then had streaky form at Chelsea. At times he was lauded by them as brilliant, other times he went through stretches of poor form. He also won them the CL.
You can see this if you bother to actually look chronologically at his career and follow the reports and fan opinions instead of just jumping on social media tripe.

What some fans did to Havertz when he joined us was an absolute disgrace and not a single one of those fans can ever be considered an Arsenal fan again. Not one. Nothing will convince me they support Arsenal.
As it turned out he proved them totally wrong, just as Arteta has, and £65m now seems like we stole him from them.
He's played just 2 seasons for us and been out for the other year, as well as playing half a season in midfield. He has 54 G+A (36 goals and 18 assists). He's basically **** from a great height on his haters.

Jay when we bought him he was ****ing awful, so much so I said when we were first linked with him of we buy that scaghead looking prick I would find Arteta and bitchslap him. He had 3 years of being **** at Chelsea, yes he was a big prospect when they bought him, but come on, there is no way you can tell me hos spell at Chelsea was a success - apart from his CL winning goal!

How is Havertz NOT worth £65m? Bargain by todays standards.
He is worth that now but not when we bought him.

Consider, Chelsea bought him for £65m and at that time he was hot ****. When we bought him he had flopped for 3 seasons at Chelsea yet we paid what Chelsea paid for him which is outrageous! Outrageous that Chelsea had the front to ask for £65m and outrageous because we were stupid enough to pay it.

At Bayer Leverkusen Havertz was on a goal contribution every 1.9 games, pretty decent that.

At Chelsea that jumped to a goal contribution every 2.89 games lol.

At Arsenal it has been a goal contribution every 2.05 games. So back to his pre Chelsea form/potential.

Soo based on current rumours how does this squad do next Season...

----------------------Havertz/Gyokeres/Kroupi----------------------
Martinelli/Trossard/Rogers--------------------Saka/Madueke/Dowman
-----------------------Eze/Rogers/Odegaard-------------------------
-----------Tonali/Merino/MLS------------Rice/Zubimendi-------------
Calafiori/Hincape--Gabriel/Hincape---Saliba/Mosquera--Timber/White
-------------------------------Raya/Kepa----------------------------

Alvarez is definitely not happening,(not bothered) Athleti have already turned down an offer of £129m from Real Madrid. It's gonna take £150m and we aint spending that.

Again - he was not **** for 3 years at Chelsea.
He went through ups and downs in form as most young players do.
Some of his team mates at the time called him the future of the club in one of his strong runs of form.
At Chelsea he played in multiple positions and as a young player was simply inconsistent - but showed himself to be a big game player nonetheless.
He was not great at Chelsea, that's for sure, but nor was he '****'.

He was also not '****' in his first 6 months for us as a midfielder - he was doing a good job in there with his work rate and ball possession, just not scoring. As usual the twitterati, who think the number of goals alone is the measure of a player, sounded off.

The way fans rewrite history to embellish their opinions is laughable.

I myself did not want him signed at first, but when he did I got behind him and was shocked to see the absolute scumbag attacks on him from our own supposed fans before he even kicked a ball for us - and we now know it affected him.
I am glad he proved them wrong and made them look foolish.

I can't criticise fellow Arsenal fans for being appalled when we signed Havertz, I don't agree with you that he was not ****e at Chelsea, I was livid when we bought him.

But if you remember rightly Jay even before a ball had been kicked in anger I latched on to your comment that he had been played out of position at Chelsea and that he was not an out and out forward. So I was supportive of Havertz before the season even started, remember???

And remember also when we were in agreement that for the period between Feb 2024 to Oct 2024 there were few if any better forwards than him with regard to goal and assists return in the world.

So I have not rewritten anything, I like Havertz but I also see what he is not good at.

He was there for three Seasons - had three different managers during this time yet won 2x FA Cups, 1 x EFL Cup, 1 x Fifa Club Wold Cup and The Champions League (scoring in the final).

Would you say RVP, Reyes or Wiltord were **** for us?.. because they were in and out of the team and played in multiple positions? He delivered in big matches. (unlike Ozil for us)

Real Madrid are like us from 15 years ago, hoovering up has-beens on frees at the tail-end of their careers that can't quite cut the mustard at top clubs anymore. They're after Rodri now too apparently.

I reckon we should take Vinicius off their hands to save their wage bill.

Vinicius-----Rogers------Saka

Bosh.

Lol how are you even comparing those players to Havertz? Wiltord was a CF pushed out to the wing so an entirely different skillset. Reyes was underwhelming for us, the difference though, he wasnt regarded as one of the best young players in the world as Havertz was when he went to Chelsea. And RVP was NEVER ever ****.

And as for Ozil, give me Ozil over Havertz any day. World class player.
