Since buying Tierney I think it highlights Bellerin's shortfalls even more, those 2 players just don't compare. Tierney is in a totally different league to Bellerin and if we can find another player of the calibre of the Scot......
Sure but alongside Robertson, Tierney is probably the best LB in the league. He's superb - its a bit harsh on Bellerin to compare him to a guy who is basically perpetual motion.
Well if the board can sign someon better i'm all for it. I just dont want us selling a very loyal player who's been with us for a long time only to replace him with someone of the same or lesser level. I feel the same about Xhaka. He can infuriate but he's a good player and to replace him with a better player wont be easy or cheap. Partey and Odengaard though are both good signs our recuitment is going in the right diretion.
Ryan Bertrand on a free. Thoughts? Another ex-Chelsea player who's 30+, but you do need backup for Tierney.
We've played Saka at LWB recently and that's worked well with Martinelli further forward. That said, it would be good to not to have to rely on Saka as back up to Tierney, who has been hampered with injuries thus far in his Arsenal career. Would I take Bertrand on a free ? depends on his wages, but he's decent enough for back up.
On another note, what do you make of Spurs' intentions to have fan representation on the board ? I've been a long term advocate of this sort of thing. And my personal feeling is that it should be mandatory for one of the board members to be a representative of the supporter's trust. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/57077965 PS. We really should be discussing this sort of thing on the Spurs board, but you know .... you still haven't released me from my ban yet
I feel like we have not had luck with free transfers recently. im now skeptical on all free transfers.
Probably not a popular opinion, but I'd like him to stay. He's a decent ball playing CB with a great pass on him, and he often starts our attacks from the back. We don't have another player like him, unless Saliba can become that player.
Would probably be in that CM/ACM role. Which to be honest I'd rather see Willock given the chance in there.
Not good enough. Not fit enough. Same level as Wilshere and Walcott so he'll end up at Spammers, Everton, Newcastle et al.
Yeah, feel like he's had his chance. I'd rather see us play our youth and develop a team around them.
when he left for Juventus I predicted he would be playing in the Championship with Cardiff within 3 years. I stand by that prediction.
Surely AMF will be Smith Rowe. He's ****ing class. I would take Ramsey back for sure but when you look at it our squad is ****ing massive. Theres ALOT of players to shift. The squad neds trimming right down.
Yeah AMF is Smith Rowe, but he can also play on the flank. I can't see a place for Ramsey in this squad tbh.
