When you look at the three main transfer rumours regarding Arsenal at the moment.. Hassem Aouar Dominick Szobolazai Jack Grealish they all play in exactly the same role AMF/LWF. Based on that we can be sure Arteta/Edu wants that role sorted ASAP - which makes me think Aubameyang will then be moved into the middle.
I would be up for that. Same age and Xhaka plays in a position/role we desperately need to strengthen. He's a decent player who has shown he can produce in the EPL. Not TOP class but pretty damn solid.
We've actually been much improved this half. The Spurs gol was just a moment of quality. We have been pretty decent - just lacking sharpness/confidence upfront.
You know who I would love to see at Arsenal?.. Martin Ødegaard. In and out of the Real Madrids side - (they signed him on 150k a week at 16) still only 21. He's like a more aggressive/athletic Luka Modric. If we got Aouar as well.. TBH honest though this is two medium priced signings probeblay around 40-50m each. Not exactly easy in the current economic climate but still within the realms of realism. --------------------------Leno-------------------------- Bellerin---Sal/Hol-----------Gabriel------Tierney --------------Partey---------Ødegaard-------------- ---Saka-------------Aouar-----------------Martinelli -------------------Aubameyang----------------------- Bench: Smith-Rowe, Luiz, Xhaka, Guendouzi, Lacazette, Pepe.
Isco being linked on a six month loan - providing we can get a least one player out first. Well he's a real talent - quite small for the EPL (but then Silva,Carzorla etc.) In front Of Xhaka & Partey that could actually be quite exciting.
The Independent (one of the better sources) are reporting Arsenal are looking to offload EIGHT players. Among those seen as dispensable are Shkodran Mustafi, Mohamed Elneny, Reiss Nelson, Callum Chambers, Folarin Balogun, Joe Willock as well as obvious outcasts like Mesut Ozil, Sokratis Papastathopoulos and Sead Kolasinac. Arsenal would also consider approaches for Konstantinos Mavropanos and Lucas Torreira, who have yet to return. The club will meanwhile review the situations of Granit Xhaka and Alexandre Lacazette, with the latter's contract set to run out next year. William Saliba has left for Nice on loan but Arteta and Edu still have him in their plans for next Season. Suprised to see Nelson on the list but as a young English talent he will probably fetch a decent transfer fee.
I assume you're not looking to sell some of those. Nelson, Balogun and Willock would be strange sales, in my opinion. Loans would make sense. Not sure moving on Elneny right now is a good idea, either. Does a job. Happy to be a squad player. Not on big money. I'd suggest that you have more pressing concerns using up more resources, honestly.
PNP is right - keep Elneny for squad cover and loan out some of the youngsters like Nelson to get more 1st team game time. wouldn’t want Balogun sold as I rate him, and also Willock shouldn’t go either. we probably could sell Eddie Nketiah if we need to sell English youth. I would sell Willian now and cut our losses, as well as all the obvious others mentioned. oh and Xhaka as I dislike him
Personally I would sell Elneny and bring back Guendouzi. Similar style of players only the Frenchman has ALOT more ability and obvioulsy a far higher ceiling being only 21. I also think they will probably sell Nelson. With Martinelli, Saka and Pepe on the books he's not going to get alot of playing time. Willock & Balogun I would loan out. Sell: Soktraris, Mustafi, Torreira, Chambers, Kolasinac and Ozil (If possible)
Balogun is gone imo. He's a free agent in the summer and I'm not sure he's confident he will get game time. If I'm his agent I'm telling him to go to Germany or mid table team and play for a move back to the top. I hope he stays however.
Elneny is what he is, he does a job. He's neither than dynamic or inventive but he's solid enough. We've got a lot of youngsters in our squad, but I don't think there's going to be room to accommodate them all. Difficult to choose between Balogun and Nketiah really. But players like Willian should defo be cut loose.
seen rumours we are interested and i wouldn't be surprised if only to resell him a year later for a profit ala Solanke .
I know the media are trying to spin this negatively as Arteta says he sees Emile Smith Rowe as a backup player at this moment in time. He's been great, has really high potential. I would agree though we need a quality experienced AMF in the squad - he's not ready (I doubt anyway) to put in top performances week in week out. That's alot of pressure for a 20 year old. I think if we brought in a player who could play AMF/LW that could work. Grealish/Aouar/Ericksen are all options Or perhaps a player who can play AMF & CMF that way they could drop deeper next to Partey when ESR plays.
