It's worth noting that Wenger never really seemed to focus on the defensive side of the game during his time at Arsenal. I feel like those seemingly average players would have been a lot better if they had a better defensive structure to work with.

Id really like to see N’Zonzi at Arsenal. Sevilla apparently wanted £35m for him though, so unless they can come down £10 or so, then it won’t happen
Hmm a bit underwhelming for me.
If Torreira is a Kante type player - we STILL need an actual DM. Kante next to a Box to Box or AMF doesn't really work as we've seen at Chelsea and for France. If anything Torreira is more offensive than Kante. Perhaps Emery will get Xhaka well drilled enough to sit in front of the back four - who knows?
Considering our forward line is 'World Class' - Our midfield certainly isn't that.
Even.. Bell/Lich--Sokrat/Mav---Kos/Sou--Mon/Kol - thats a decent defence. GK's are sorted too.
I think sorting out the midfield could take this squad from 'Top 6' to genuine challengers. At the moment though it just doesn't quite have the required quality IMO.
Start of the Season I will revert back to my overtly optimistic self I'm sure.

Approx £22m for Leno, £22.6m for Terreira, £16m for Sokratis. Litchenstiner for free. Thats £60.6 million.
there's also the possibility of..
Gelson Martins for Free and Caglar Souyunco for £30m.
Also I would imagine the £50m is not taking into account money earned from player Sales.
Ospina will probably leave, Perez and Campbell also. Wilshere let go, will be interesting to see who else they let leave.

I wouldn't mind him at Arsenal but I mean if we are after a tall powerful midfield to complement Torreira maybe Rubin Loftus Cheek would be worth a punt?

I hope the Medhi Benatia rumours are true.
He's a solid CB - Good on the ball, decent in the air and strong.
This would be a decent backline with Koscielny and Mavraponos as backup/competition.

Torreira had a storming game. We need to get this signing over the line ASAP.
I agree. The guy was a battling Jack Russell, he was everywhere and intercepting key moments of play, moving the ball around well and generally had good awareness and confidence. He was up against some very good forwards and held his own, the energy he had was impressive.
