Linked to Casillas today. Apparently we've offered him 1.4m a year which is about 27k a week. I'd happily take him as our backup keeper but the ospina deal seems the most likely, or most rumoured at least!

Sounds like we'll be starting the season with koscielny as our only CB, need to get Vermalen's replacement sorted

Our team for the Charity Shield is going to be interesting, I'm not sure the French players will be back for that either..

A midfield of Wilshere, Ramsey and Ozil will get bullied off the park. We need some defensive grit to go along with the skill.

Well was'nt the case last Season with Arteta, Ramsey and Ozil.

For me Wilshere is a more aggressive player than Arteta. Plus who knows what will happen with Diaby - he may actually get fit. Flamini is not exactly a pushover and Roiscky can play anywhere.

If we can add a TOP CLASS Defensive mid/Box to box player then we should but.. we have ALOT of midfielders already so there's no point adding unless they are a improvement in all round quality.

Er, yes it was. The title contenders each gave us a hiding.

When we spanked you 6-0 I think Ramsey was out injured.
You played Ozil, Ramsey and Arteta against us at the Emirates in the 0-0 draw I believe.
Arteta didnt play when City tonked you 6-3 either, he was an unused sub.

I think Ramsey also missed your 5-1 drubbing at the hands of Liverpool too.

Last season does suggest that you have better games when all 3 are fit and playing.

Hardly a crumb of comfort is it. All teams lose players over the course of the season and this obviously makes it harder to get a result when you are missing your best players. But getting hammered by your rivals is a cause of real concern and is something we need to address this coming season.

Well yeah, that has been your problem in the past 5 years, keeping your key players fit.
RVP, Walcott, Ramsey etc always seemed to be out injured.
RVP had two injury free seasons, but now seems to be back to his old tricks at United.

Didnt you guys get a new fitness coach this summer? Maybe you will see an improvement?

I can't see Casillas coming to us - the signing doesn't make sense on any level. He's leaving a huge team where he's been No1 and is obviously not going to be happy playing back up.

We've lost a back up keeper and need to replace him, we also have a young 1st choice keeper whose just coming into his prime, and who Wenger has frequently shown his faith in.

We are also not going to break the bank for a back up keeper, or have two 1st choices disrupting the squad or bench Szczenzy for 2 years (hindering is progress, or making him leave) until Casillas retires - with his performances decreasing all the time.

It's just the usual paper talk BS

If the papers will link us with Nani, they'll link us with anyone.

Didn't notice anyone mention that we signed a 15 year old German kid from barca a couple of days ago.

Local paper is reporting that Arsenal have signed Calum Chambers form Southampton for £16 million:-

I'm actually really chuffed about this!! A fantastic bit of business for Saints for a player who is second choice right back and massively over-priced. It's a bit of a concern that we will have no one to play for us next season but for Arsenal to pay 3/4 of what Liverpool bought the very talented Adam Lallana for, this would appear to be the worst piece of business by a top flight club this close season. He is good but perhaps a £4million player at most and not of the same calibre as Clyne whose departure would have concerned me.

We have pocketed about £80 million in transfers this season - not sure how much of this will be spent but it will certainly pay off the debts associated with the academy.
