I originally thought that any new players would be announced with kit launch but I now to subscribe to the view that PUMA would not want anything to overshadow the kit launch which unveiling a new player would do.

A kit launch isn't going to get on the back page of any newspaper, nor the top billing on any website. A big player signing for Arsenal will. And in the end, whatever gets the pictures of the shirt logos on the front page is what matters.
