Giroud is injured. Podolski has only just come back from Injury Walcott is better on the wing. Bendtner is a donkey TBH. I would be suprised if Wenger is'nt at least looking.
Oh I'm sure he's "looking" and then he'll come out and tell us "There was no value in the market." Plus when Sanogo comes back, it will be like a "new signing"
The problem with signing a striker is that there aren't really that many available who could improve the team hugely. Maybe it would be worth looking at a winger and moving Poldi into the middle, or sign a winger with great finishing and play them through the middle. It worked before....
lets get it done early and not ****ing hang around. we dont need a replacement striker for Giroud we just need another striker so we can rotate.
Sanogo really wasn't even in the top 10 players on the pitch this summer for the France U21 games i saw him in. Despite scoring a few he was quite shocking honestly. You'd expect if he was of the quality to break into the top 4 teams he'd ace that competition, as none of the other players there were notable. He'd be behind Bendtner in the pecking order no doubt.
please log in to view this image Arsene's face when asked about signings. Same face he pulled prior to us getting Ozil.
Here's the interview from where that picture is taken http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/25571310 and it does sound very much like Wenger will be trying to sign a striker in January.
I totally agree we need a new CF but unless it's a MAJOR emergency, we really don't force the issue. The last time we got someone big in was Arshavin, and that was when we were in some big dire straits. But who knows, maybe the Ozil transfer has signalled a change in our cautious transfer policy.
It's the same face he pulled when he was asked about Cazorla before we signed him. Doubt there's anyone lined up yet though
Just can't see us signing Berbatov. Wenger seems set on having a grafting focal point up front where the likes of Giroud and to a lesser extent NB excel at holding things up and bringing others into the game. Podolski isn't that kind of forward and Berbatov is many things but he's certainly no grafter. I'd have loved the likes of Dzeko but that deal would have had to have been done last summer as there's no way City would sell to us now! I don't think we'll get anybody to be honest. I can see us muddling through January with Pod leading the line and continuing as normal once Giroud is back. I don't think that will be enough for us to win the league.
Agreed on Dzeko. For some reason many people on here seem to think that Giroud is on the same level as Dzeko. Dzeko is definitely the better player and someone I would go in for and then get rid of Bendy. Oh and neither can I see anyone coming in, unless Wenger does an Ozil special on us....
