Don't know why people keep on talking about Lewandowski when he hasn't been linked with us and he's clearly stated he wants to move to Bayern. Benzema and Suarez are more gettable targets, with Benzema being a long time Wenger favourite.
Vermaelen set for Serie A escape? http://talksport.com/football/vermaelen-set-serie-escape-13102465343 Inter Milan could offer Thomas Vermaelen an escape route out of Arsenal, according to sources in Italy. Wenger needs to work his magic and stomp on any rumours surrounding the selling of Vermaelen. It would be a bad decision to sell him mid-season, especially a top quality central defender like him. Play him asap and starting in the cups. Rene Adler reveals he’s rejected Arsenal twice but could move in January http://metro.co.uk/2013/10/24/rene-...enal-twice-but-could-move-in-january-4159798/ Hamburg goalkeeper Rene Adler has revealed he has rejected moves to Arsenal twice – but could now join the Gunners in January. Adler has long been rumoured to be a target for Arsenal, especially last summer, with the 28-year-old enjoying a fine season at Hamburg. And speaking for the first time about the links, the shot-stopper has admitted he has twice turned down the chance to move to north London – whilst also hinting at a switch in the new year. ‘When I was 15 there was the opportunity to move to Arsenal, but I decided to go to Leverkusen to get a professional contract there,’ he explained. There was also contact after the Under-20 World Cup in the Netherlands. I played against Lionel Messi and some other big names and there was contact with Arsenal. ‘I’d like to play in England in the future. You can’t say never in football. ‘Football in England is some kind of religion. The fans, the culture behind the big clubs is very interesting. ‘It’s a big honour for me if a club like Arsenal are interested in me.’ Adler is being tipped to depart the Bundesliga when the transfer window re-opens, as he bids to move to a big club in order to aid his international ambitions ahead of the World Cup. The goalie would likely cost around £4million.
http://www.arsenalnews.co.uk/reliab...arco-reus-likely-to-join-arsenal/link/717671/ Worth a shot? There are mixed view on the reliability of Bild, however I think this player would be another top acquisition and an unbelievable signing.
Classy but very injury prone. If we had another quality CF and used him as backup, then maybe. But with our limited options up front, would be a risk too far.
I'd take him as a back-up striker if he's fairly cheap but think there are other better options about that we should be targetting.
Pato ain't the best, but certainly would prefer having him over Bendtner. If it came down to no strikers, or having Pato, I'd have Pato, we're not in a position to be passing up any striker that's better than Bendtner if the other option is to be stuck with Bendtner, who really wants to enter the second half of the season with Bendtner as our main back up striker? And we have one tough second half of the season to come with away games to Liverpool, Chelsea, Spurs, Everton, and even count Southampton, plus if we're still in the knockout stages of Europe and with potential FA cup games.
Maybe we should go for Max Cruse, he's one of the top goal scorers in the bundesliga and plays for Borussia Monchengladbach. :-D. 7 goals so far, only behind Lewdanski and Mandzukic.
There was a story about us taking Llorente on loan in January. Whether it's him or not, I think a Jan loan could be the best move until we can really pull out the stops in the summer to get a top quality CF. Can't see us making a permanent signing in January for the quality of player we need for the long term, we might just need to look at a stop gap for now.
Llorente would be a good loan move. We really are missing on numbers and adding Llorente would give some much needed cover for the second half of the season. Very simular to Giroud but again, it'll make things a little more safer should Giroud go out injured or lose form. Also, Giroud needs some competition as our CF.
For me it depends what our injury situation is come the January transfer window and what players are available now versus who will be available in the summer. A loan move could be the best option if we can't land our top targets in January. EDIT: forgot to say - Llorente would be a good option if he is available on loan.
I think Pato could be a great signing. A player with great potential that has underperformed. Wenger is great with this type of player. Llorente would be decent too. To be honest I would rather we played Vermaelen up front than Bendtner.
Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester City have been put on alert with Edinson Cavani, 26, unhappy at Paris St-Germain and considering whether he needs to move to get out from under Zlatan Ibrahimovic's shadow. Full story: Daily Express Yes please.
