I am a realist, we need a striker, what part of that is wrong? I'm very happy we signed Ozil, but very frustrated we haven't improved other positions that needed improvement. Everyone on here (bar toledo who thinks Bendtner is as good as Messi) agreed we needed up to 4-5 major signings, we've only had one so far, and now a few on here pretending that cements over the cracks, it doesn't. What's so wrong about what I'm saying?

I'm not saying Ozil is bad or not what we need like some other pundits and bitter fans are saying, Ozil is very very much what we need, in terms of creativity from midfield, we're settled and possibly have the best attacking midfield line up. But we need improvement in other areas.

I didn't realise Ozil only signed with us for the next 8-10 weeks.

That makes £42m a bit of an overspend ...

No, I'm just happy we've signed a top quality player. Read my comments properly and you'll see that I've said consistently that we still need a DF and a CF, just because that doesn't suit your negative bile, that's not my problem. Ozil it top quality and most Gooners are ecstatic that we've signed him. You're just a miserable **** <ok>

i agree. With Ozil even Bendtner would score more than 20. Ozil and Fabregas are the two most creative midfielders in the world.

We have signed:

A keeper
A dm / fb
A top quality AM
A promising striker (could be good / could be bad)

All we are lacking is an additional top notch striker, but we have Giroud, Pod, Walcott and Ozil who could all play there, depending on the opposition.
 
I have said i thought we needed 1-2 top quality additions (Ozil is better than i could have imagined to fill one of these spots) and another couple of squad players for depth. Flamini and Viviano are good additions to the squad.

I agree we could maybe do with an additional 1-2 players, a striker and possibly a back-up defender (but we do have ways of covering the back).

I really did want us to get another striker though. Still 15 minutes to go, last chance bid for a striker?

Giroud is playing well and maybe we will have to wait until January to get the top striker we want? Unlike a lot of you i dont want us wasting money on some second rate striker for the sake of numbers.

January is not the easiest time to get the top players as most are involved in CL football with their clubs, but if we identify targets now, then it gives us some time to work on some potential deals for Jan.

So chuffed with Ozil though. Well done Arsenal <ok>

We need a defender, not a utility player like Flamini who can play in defence. Sanogo, please no.

I'm not a realist, I'm a fan and make no apologies for it. I will continue to think we are going to win everything, until it is impossible to think otherwise, and I make no apologies for that.

BTW there is absolutely no downside to this transfer. Check out Mrs Ozil.
