Apparently Cabaye has told NUFC he'd rather join us than PSG

I reckon 12m tops for Cabaye.

Funny how this window has gone from seeing us praying that Real didn't bid for Suarez to now hoping they do just that.

It just shows that the window isn't over until the fat lady sings, there's still a way to go and a few twists and turns left in this one <ok>

You're obviously unfamiliar with how Newcastle deal with transfers. They're notoriously tough to do business with.

David Ornstein, BBC SportLATEST GOSSIP

"Former Arsenal midfielder Mathieu Flamini is in talks with the Gunners over a return to Emirates Stadium.

"The 29-year-old France international is a free agent after AC Milan decided not renew his contract at the end of last season and has been training with the north London club in recent week.

"A deal for Flamini, who can operate as a holding midfielder or provide cover at full-back, is likely to be finalised in the coming days.

"He joined Arsenal from Marseille in 2004 and spent four years with Arsene Wenger's side, helping them to the Champions League final in 2006."

Flamini coming back, who would have quessed that? <whistle>

Decent signing I would say.

He really came on late last season with AC. Last 6 games he played, 4 goals and 1 assist from Midfield, and was a regular starter for the club during the latter part of the season when their record improved. They lost the league early with a disastrous start, at which point he was not in the lineup, or on the bench, most of the time.

Flamini decent signing if he's meant to be a squad player, if he's meant to be the player we've been looking for in midfield as a starter, then no, that'd be a **** up, and another freebie. For ****s sakes, we got 70-90 million to spend, and 2 freebies?

Yep, happy to have him back. Decent MF player and can play in DF. Committed blood and guts type of player who will add some steel to our squad. On a free too, so all in all a good deal <ok>

I'm not going to judge a player based on what we pay for him. AC Milan only lost one game for the entire second half of last season and that was the game Flamini was suspended for. He is top quality. 200 top flight matches, 40 CL appearances. This is exactly what we need.
