The problem with Twitter is that is full of bullshitters sitting behind keyboards pretending they know what is going on at Arsenal
If rumours are to be believed it would appear that there has been some contact about signing Higuain but how far those negotiations have progressed is open to to debate.
Strongly linked to Fabregas again. Marca are claiming we have a £25 Million buy back clause. I have to say Fabregas is still my first choice signing for Arsenal. Ok we NEED a striker but imagine the football we would play with Fabregas,Carzorla and Wilshere all linking up together. Geoffrey Kondogbia is also being strongly linked. He would also be a great signing. Probably the most impressive young player in La Liga last Season.
As I posted on another thread.I think the buy back clause means **** all.It may mean we have first refusal if Barca want to sell but what happens if Fabregas doesn't want to rejoin us ?
Of course, it does'nt give us any power as things stand. But if Fabregas decides he does want to leave it puts the club in a strong position to sign him back. I think Fabregas would be lot more tempted if he saw us bring in another big name signing first. I doubt he's keen to go back to fighting it out for 3rd - 4th place again.
Joe ‏@joes_96 Cesc just liked this photo on Instagram. Fail to see how any fan can't get their hopes up over this ... #afc pic.twitter.com/t2qPs3pil9
Been watching some of the under 20's world cup, and Kondogbia does look impressive. Although, I think he would need some time to develop more, whereas someone like Lars Bender would make more of an impact next season.
Kongdobia would be a good replacement for Coquelin. Apparently Sevilla want €17M for him though, can't see Wenger spending that amount on a squad player, would rather just spend £22M on Fellaini personally. Speaking of the U-20's, it looks like we may have missed a trick on Thauvin in January.
This transfer window has been daft, worse than normal. There is so little real information flying around and the press are completely unrestrained in the fabrication of information. Most of the players are not even back from their vacations, new managers are still making up their minds for their squads next year. The only deals that have gone through are end of contract, pre-arranged stuff and deals from countries whose season is out of step with ours, plus some small stuff. I pretty much guarantee that there have been no formal bids made for Suarez, Barry, Higuain, Wanyama, Fellaini, Rooney, Barry, Cesar, Jovetic, Bender, or Grenier. Despite all the guff coming from agents, the clubs are just at the stage of making polite enquiries about who is available and what their price might be. If the first enquiry is met with a number that the buyer will pay without negotiation (like Paulinho) then it goes through, but apart from that nothing is being done. Some arsenal fans are going to be near hysterical before any signings start coming in. If you are older and have seen it all before, I suggest you grab a cold beer, watch the cricket, and take any news report with the word transfer in it with a huge grain of salt.
