This is the difference between you and me and the reason why I detest football in its current state amd assume you love it !

I like artisans, I like mavericks, they are what draw people into the game ! I don't want to see my attacking players defending, leave that to the rest of the team, let the attacking players attack.

Nobody ever watched Carlton Palmer and said I want to be like him, no football talent but a super soldier who can run up and down all day. You balance out your Ozils by playing them next to Khediras ! Unless of course you are a muppet of a manager and don't give Ozil the tools he needs.

Nobody wants to be Zubimendi, nobody wants to be Norgaard, young players want to be exciting players, thats who they idolise, this football by numbers bollox gots to go.

Thats fine, but then you must accept you follow for football for entertainment reasons and not winning trophies.
There is no such thing as player who has a free role without defensive responsibility these days - at least none that are actually valuable to the team.
Those days are gone and there has never been a time in the history of the sport when all of the attacking players are not expected to defend.
What you are advocating for is Arsenal being relegated - because that is exactly what would happen if our front 3 was told not to defend.

So don't be upset if we never win anything again and operate in the lower leagues - as long as we're entertaining.

Ozil wasn’t even a good artisan or maverick for us. Cazorla was. Sanchez was. Ozil was largely anonymous against anyone remotely decent. His one spell of being world class was setting up goals for prime CR7 at Real for a season or so. He’s about as elite an artisan as Phil Foden.
