BRISTOL City are weighing up a move for Leeds United contract rebel Ross McCormack. Scotland international striker McCormack, 25, is in dispute with Leeds after rejecting a new contract offer made by manager Neil Warnock. His deal expires at the end of next season and sources in Yorkshire suggest Leeds are prepared to cash in on a player who scored 19 goals last season, rather than allow him to run down his contract and depart as a free agent 12 months from now. Although Warnock is now prepared to consider the possibility of selling his leading marksman, Leeds are unlikely to be tempted by anything less than £2 million. Meanwhile, McInnes has enquired as to the availability of West Brom goalkeeper Boaz Myhill. McInnes is also in the market for a centre-half and left-back, but has dismissed rumours linking him with Middlesbrough's Stephen McManus and Chelsea starlet Ben Gordon. McManus spent a month on loan at Ashton Gate last season and has been linked with a return to City. But the Scot is left-footed and McInnes is in the market for a right-sided centre-back to partner Liam Fontaine, with Coventry's Richard Keogh his preferred choice. Would love to see McCormack come to us as he has an eye for goals but not worth £2m with 12 months left on his contract but he is a consistant goal scorer (well until he comes to City and gets no service) but If we could get at least £1m plus for Pitman if he does leaves if would give us the money to spent.
Another one from the rumour sites * 02 Jul 2012 15:34:27 Nicky Maynard set for unlikely return to Bristol City on 3 month loan deal with possible extension to season long loan.
Just had a quick look at OTIB and got these gems........ Greg Cunningham as good as signed according to some and ex gas Will Hoskins being strongly linked with a move to us.......he has apparently been following all our (lack of) transfer movements on twatter over the last few weeks. I know nothing about GC, but IIRC Hoskins was a decent player with the potential to go on?
sky sports saying a few teams interested in James Wilson do you think if he goes that means del boy got a new cb
James wilson has been linked with a few teams over the year like Everton. His issue is he was out for over 2 years with an injury which he was not expected to return from. Full credit to him to come back and has looked solid and a player I have said before that we should look to build a team round for the future but he is still picking up injuries which seems to be an issue with our club (Fontain and Elliott are another two suffering from regular injuries (Ribs and Jamie Mac two just left who again had injuries) so dont know if its the players or how the club manages the players that are leading to the injuries. I fully believe that if Wilson could stay fit he could be a top Premier league defender and one of the brightest young players to come out of the club but he will never meet his potential if he cant stay fit.
Here's one of the rumour site to get the doubters crying, I won't be upset if we played James Wilson more often, I think he could be the best CM for the club IF he stays fit. None of the below comments are mine!!! 04 Jul 2012 14:16:45 Bristol City look set to give youngster James Wilson his big chance in the coming season. City have lost out on central defenders Andre Amougou (Middlesborough), Richard Keogh (Cardiff), Anthony Gerrard (Nottingham Forest) and now Steven McManus who has decided to return to Scotland. City target Ross McCormack is set to join rivals Cardiff to replace the departing Earnshaw. However, former Bristol Rovers striker Will Hoskins has agreed terms and looks set to join Bristol City in a 250k deal. James Wilson is meant to be going to either Sheffield United, Derby County or Coventry. Gus P still has Hoskins in his first team plans, but Hoskins is home sick and always injured. I doubt he'll move back to Bristol. We need quality at the back and plenty of it else were heading for league 1 Mccormack isnt joinng cardiff ,not spoken to anyone ,and according to palace and hudds he's already signed for them
The post have us linked with Greg cunningham a 21 year old left back from man city, it says we've agreed a fee with city and were waiting for personal terms, also Greg has completed a medical.
Anybody have any idea who he is,what would he bring to the table, not heard of him before??? Just found this looks a good capture and Forest wanted to sign him as well. http://www.thisisbristol.co.uk/story-16481339-detail/story.html Well done good signing it seems as if we are bringing quality in,this guy had Adomah in his pocket when we played Forest.
Man City fans rate him.. they would prefer us to take Mcgivern.. Some details.. http://www.herald.ie/sport/soccer/greg-i-need-to-leave-city-3156545.html
He impressed while at Forrest last season, I have heard of him, but as for the player he is, I have no idea
Cunnigham appears to be a decent player - and better than McGivern Interesting that the EP was saying that DM wanted to bring in a LB in October but was tied to the McGivern loan deal
Is he one of Del boys targets looks like he will be moving shortly http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11688/7870003/Varney-eyeing-Pompey-exit
Seems strange that we were linked to Paul Dixon for ages, now Del has said he is not looking north of the border, Cunningham was number 1 target. It just shows that these rumours are probably made up by Agents to get the fee's up on the players.
