Looking highly likely that Engvall is the next one out the door. He's expected to sign for KV Mechelen in Belguim today. Without doubt LJs biggest waste of money at c£2.5m.

So far that's quite a bit of the squad (and wage bill) trimmed with only Webster coming in, I think we need a few more in soon.

Vyner and Kelly signed new contract extensions this week, so will likely feature heavily next season, a couple of more experienced heads would be nice.

Engvall was something like 1.4 million outlay with add ons up to 2 or 2.5m. I can’t see that he has done anything to trigger those add ons.
Flint signed a new contract this season, but there was very little change that it just seemed more like a gentleman’s agreement, he sign’s, then he moves then the club get more transfer money.
We can all sit round knocking LJ, MA, SL or the club cat. Footballers move on and we can only hope we make money. Flint we did, Engvall we didn’t.

Forgotten Watkins already?

Bloody hell, £4million for Pack.
Wasn't long ago that it was only Banksy on here fighting his corner.
I’ve always liked Marlon , I’ve thought we underestimate his influence on the team , we play better when he’s in the team . Take your point about on here though , I’m a relative newbie.

Maybe Marriott isn't on then. Seems like it would be a completely bizarre turn of events if that's the case.

Lots of positive things said about Weimann, but a prolific goalscorer he is not - Jack Marriott could still be on.

I have no problem with signing players from L1 , seems highly thought of , could be a good prospect , however with the loss of so many experienced championship players we do need to replace that experience also imo

We took Mendez-Laing from Rochdale and he did well in his first season for us last year so why not?

Agree though that the right balance has to be sought. Experienced players at this level tend to drag the new boys along with them.

Medical for Andreas Weimann
The Derby County forward is reportedly in Bristol undergoing a medical ahead of joining the Robins

A fee of £2m has been agreed between the two clubs.

It seems that Weimann has not gone on Derby’s tour to Tenerife - not something Lampard confirmed this morning.

The deal could be announced later today.

Is our transfer dealings starting to heat up or is it just hype from the media? I must confess that the signing from Scunthorpe doesn't fill me with excitement (someone had to say it) and yet as it has been mentioned by several you can't judge a book by it's cover. As was also mentioned we have lost a lot of our players and their experience may be difficult to replace but you have to start somewhere. Have we passed any critical eyes over any of the talent that is on the World Cup stage, some of whom may be licking their lips at playing on English soil where they may better their own future by being more in the spotlight?

Usual interesting times ahead and let's hope we can come up with the goods needed to resow the seeds of possibility.

We sign a player who’s been compared to the next Adomah by some who’ve seen him played, and yet some are still not impressed.
