Trevor wasn't a footballer - he was an extreme enforcer!!! When I see players get red cards for tackles such as the Wolves player the other day I have to smile - Trevor did worse than that in the pre-match warm up. His great use to the team was that any midfielder in the opposing team got rid of the ball very quickly before the hairy dervish could whack him up in the air and in his haste to get rid of the ball often gave it away to a City player. As I said on another thread my abiding memory of Trevor - God rest his soul - was that whilst the opponent was being retrieved from Row P of the stand Trevor would be standing there with arms outstretched - what me Ref!!

Hey just to say superman, no offence was taken. What i ment was that if we dont get any one i wouldnt mind. I do honestly believe we have enough strength to stay up in our squad! Will be intersting to see who we get in though!

We can speculate, but Lambert has already passed the names of players he wants to the board and I suspect they will again act quickly once the window opens. Huddersfield also said that Pilks wasn't available at any price. Should be interesting anyway! OTBC!

I`m hoping we sign Cannavaro to sure up our leaky defence......:emoticon-0103-cool:

I will be very suprised if rhodes leaves huddersfield mid season. Pilks left at the end, when he wasnt as important. As there chairman says, it doesnt make business and financial sense to sell him as promotion will bring alot more rewards than selling him now...

I was thinking earlier and maybe ALOT of you would disagree with me but i would like to see this tried out...

Ruddy
Naughton Martin Whitbread Tierney
Fox
"signing"Johnson
Pilkington
Morison "signing"

Rudd, De laet, Barnett, Crofts, Bennett, Hoolahan, Holt

I know people will say staright away no hoolahan or holt but what an impact they make when coming off the bench and come the 2nd half of the season its all about having the legs and i just dont think that especially holty and hoolahan will have them legs to play all the time come this 2nd half.

Slate me at your will but i do have a good point in my view!!

I have to say, these last few games where Holty has started, I've been very impressed with his stamina! He's never going to win the hundred metres, but his ability to get up and down the pitch, from box to box has been very impressive! <ok>

I know Dave, there is no question that he has been unbelievable the last couple of months but I do think its a big ask for him to carry on the same level for the next 4.

He's rather loud and overpowering! <yikes>

I'm with Sid on this one.
The man is an institution. From ZCars, Roman Emperors to flying in Flash Gordon and Boss Nass in Phantom Menace with many over the top roles in between and he climbed Mount Blanc and tried to conquer Everest and trekked to the North Pole. Trevor Hockey would not have messed with Brian. I wish in he was in our back four on Saturday.

On the BBC gossip today we are linked with loans for fringpong and Nathan delfonsso - poor journalism there as two more loans

On top of that Max, Frimpong is widely reported to be as good as at Wolves on loan. Seriously, you wonder how some journo's keep their jobs.
It's about time we were heavily linked with some more SPL players, isn't it? After all, Lambert played for Celtic, so therefore... <doh>

Oh, please let's not go down the Peter Grant route again <doh> :emoticon-0105-wink:

I have a funny inkling that naughon maybe on his way back to spurs. If were going for Gunter and also looking at another loan deal then that might happen.

As for 2 linked, exile is right with frimpong basically a wolves player already. As for delfounseo, wouldn't mind him in a norwich shirt. though I can't see that happening!

“I’ve given them names we want to try and get in. I would love to bring in people who are top of the tree, but I can’t – that is the reality of it. But this group have never let me down before. There is no point me looking towards next season. You don’t get time. I could be here one minute and off the next if I don’t get the results. That is the nature of the beast. We have to bring players in who can hit the ground running.”

Those are PL's words today. I think that rules out any major surprise.
And are we the only club that doesn't buy from foreign clubs? Not that I particularly want anyone from that area. I'm more than happy with our buying policy. He preceded that statement by reaffirming the clubs new attitude of not racking up the debt.
