Attacking midfielder Gastón Ramírez is being heavily linked to us.

Sounds realistic as well. Why?
- Cheap. His contract is up in the summer = either a cheap deal now or a 5 month loan with the possibility of signing him on a free this summer.
- Pedigree.....he is a 25 year old Uruguay international who had his pick of clubs before joining Southampton for £12m
- Serie A experience with Bologna....So is known to Frank and probably speaks a smattering of Italian
- Fits our long standing criteria of signing hungry players with something to prove (having flopped in the Prem with Southampton you'd imagine this was the case)

He was on the verge of a return to Serie A this summer when Middlesboro started talking to him. We are rumored to have gatecrashed these talks.

Thoughts?

We're lacking in the creativity department atm so I think this would be a good signing.

I don't see he would bring anything to us, Southampton are touting him around as they don't want him, Don't think he did to Much at Hull when on loan. Surely we can d better than this no better than what we have.

Just feels we have become a bit of a laughing stock in the transfer market at the moment, we are being liked to anyone clubs want shot of or bang average players and we cant sign any of them. We will end up as usual panicking at the end of the window and taking someone's cast off who will bring nothing to our squad. We have had 23 days to address the striker issue and nothing, I am not sure but aren't we the only club not to do any business this window except sell an English international to our relegation rivals.

Never thought of that , would keep us out of court at the end of next week if so .Kinda doubt it though , pretty bold of us to even show interest in a player from their club though Taff ...unless you're scenario has any validity
Heard nothing but if we are truly after him, we would have to front up re Vorm!

Wouldn't happen unless the Vorm despute was part , not going to court any further would be a big plus over such a small sum to begin with ....so , so stupid to put a team's transfer reputation on the line over such a small saving .
Total brain fart by Jenkins imo

FIFA confirmed last summer they were investigating the transfer, but a Swansea spokesman has stated "The transfer of Michel Vorm was conducted and concluded correctly under Premier League rules," "It was approved by the Premier League and also FIFA via their TMS (Transfer Matching System).

Swansea city club spokesman continued, "While we have been in contact with Utrecht as a matter of courtesy, we will continue to conduct our business in the best interest of our football club and our supporters, and not based on the views of other clubs."Unlike some countries abroad, we do not have third party ownership of players in Britain. The club will not be commenting further on this matter."

Seems to me Huw knows his onions far more than some on here, who's comments are laughably embarrassing.........<laugh>

It comes back to court next week Phil , keep up .

I like him a lot.
Would love it if both Williams and Allen were to sign this summer.
I don't get all the fuss, I think I saw him play one half tidy game for Wales in his early days and that was it, I think he is nowhere near what we need to strengthen our squad and would be a backward step for us, We can do much better.
