Allen? We've got better.
Sinclair? We've got better.

Even if you disagree, neither of them have set the Prem alight and it could be argued they are pretty average Prem players. I've heard some say Sinclair isn't even Prem standard. It's nostalgic hoo-ha as far as I'm concerned and the fans are getting whipped up over nothing. Does anyone seriously believe those two would make a difference? Of course not.

I agree with Roof. We need a striker first and foremost - and a good one. Anyone else is a bonus. That, coupled with the new coach who has some decent ideas so I'm told and we'll get over the line.

Allen hasn't had a run off games either by being injured or by having Lucas back in the side , Leon isn't going to go on for ever , a few mistakes are starting to creep in , that's not me being picky but Leon has set himself such high standards that they're noticeably . Sinclair for £2, 000, 000 why not but not instead of the money being spent on a much needed striker

Tbh, all of this talk about Sinclair, if you gave me the option of Montero, Barrow or Sinclair 1 on 1 with a goalie, I'd choose Sinclair in that scenario every time. More than worth the risk at £2 million, provided, as you say, it's not taking money out of the budget towards a striker.

I would say Joe Allen is above average, and the perfect replacement for Leon, we need him back in our squad, cork for me doesn't quite do it......<ok>

Cork is a different type of DM. I think he's been great. Him and Joe/Leon alongside each other with Gylfi in front would be great as Cork is carrying Ki atm.

I'm not sure of the downer on Ki. To say he's been poor for some time is simply not true. He's had one or two bad games - Monday night in particular, even though he set up the goal. We have to be careful advocating the exit of players who are talented and have something to offer in getting us out of the ****. In my view he's one of those players.

I think his reluctance to stick his foot in and show some commitment pissed a lot of fans off. Me too.

Looking at 55's link re Onazi, I was aware of this. Talented boy for sure but not convinced we need a holding midfield player - at least not as a priority. He wants to come and we have the money so it could well happen.

Apparently according to the 'Daily Mail,' We are being offered £6 million plus Borini for Ayew. This would be the most insane bit of business ever. Borini can't be worth any more than £5 million. He can't even get in the Sunderland team FFS.. Ayew has been our stand out player this year and is our top scorer by a mile. He has to be worth more than £11 million. That''s what Championship players are going for. Cheeky buggers. I will give up if this happens now.

This won't happen Nam. It's a non starter. Curtis has already said he's going nowhere.
I know, but what is said and done is often completely different in the world of football. Nothing surprises me any more, although this would haha. The article also says Guid.. .oh God why cant' he be called Smith, fancies Borini. I know its just paper talk, sh*t paper talk too, but often there is no smoke without fire. But please, please Huw don't accept anything remotely like this. Out of interest what sort of value would you put on Ayew. Take out transfer window panic. If you were a top 4 chairman and he was a top target of your manager, where would you draw the line. To me it has to be between 15 and 20 million. Maybe sounds crazy, but that's football for you. He is quality and that costs. It does make me chuckle though if pundits talk about the pace of our front players. It just shows they watch F all really as he isn't that quick in my opinion. Not a criticism, just an observation.

If someone besides Sunderland coughs up 18 million , I think the club will sell him .I would too , and spend that money and the money from the Shelvey sale on a super striker and a left back and another central midfielder .Keeping Ayew is equally good but it is a business too , and we need a more regular type striker ...desperately

I think I would still keep him. I am fed up of the big striker type who can hold the ball up etc etc With Ayew, Siggs and maybe Routledge footballing ability to play a through pass for a forward to run onto, I would rather a more dynamic, fast, centre forward who knows the offside rule. I read toady, Gomis if he stays with us is on course to have the most offsides ever in a premier league season. Is that because we have the players to make that ball but not the forward to take advantage.

I'd love Borini back into our squad, but not at the price of Ayew going out with just £6 million on top. Borini has been wasted at both Liverpool and Sunderland, and the boy has quality, would love him to be back at the Liberty, where he will score goals.......<ok>

Let's put an offer in then. Not a bad shout at all, but not at the expense of Ayew for Gods sake.

Why Borini? Flopped at every club he's been at since his stint with us in the championship. Not good enough imo.
