Word is Acun wanted to go full on bananas with the players we wanted, MU wasn't having it.

As in, he wanted to sign players like Zaha, Ferdi Kadioglu, Krunic and Serge Aurier.

Had that happened, we'd have ended up buggered.

Unless you are Tan Kesler in disguise, you couldn’t possibly know this as fact.

It’s not your money he’s wasting so why are you bothered? Presumably you would prefer Ehab as an owner who spent **** all of his own money and was happy for the club to go down as long the books were balanced.

Safi Holdings via the Safiport shipping and ports have sponsored many teams in Turkiye - last year they were shirt sponsors for Tranbzonspor and various Fenerbahce basketball teams.

What do they get out of sponsoring us, what tangible benefit are they getting in exchange for money or is this just a bit of Turkish sport-washing?

I understand why betting and crypto companies want to get their brands and logos on shirts, but your average football fan watching the match, isn't thinking 'next time I want to shift 100 containers of Temu **** out of China, I'll give Safiport a go, I might save some money.'

If I read this correctly, you have it arse about face. The exact point I made is that it is him thats 85 mil in the hole. maybe you might want to read it again... the initial post from Ev said 'we' had lost money, I corrected it and said 'he' had lost money.

Could be just as simple as, Our business partner has asked us to maybe help his friend with something, so yeah you probably are close to it.

It's fine messing up many people do,as long as you can mend it.

The very same one. I'm assuming it might refer to a loan from Galatasaray , where he went to on leaving CP..He's now in the US on loan at Charlotte FC...Shame. A very good player on his day.

There’s more than 2 owners you know right. Or is reading comprehension difficult when licking the boots of Acun?

If there is a deal to pay a lot of money for guaranteed purchase in two years they would
Clubs will still loan players to us if we pay all or part of their wages and are not likely to get in their first team

What's all this about transfer embargo and fee restriction?
Previously we were told that a "transfer embargo" was exactly what they are calling a "fee restriction" now.
Have they just had a revamp of definitions?

Reading comprehension AND boot licking in the same sentence here. Didn't expect to get a double on my 'cliche 606 playground ****' bingo card in one short post.

I've not said anything about this situation yet. I'm waiting for the actual facts to come out first, and want to see what happens next before I cast judgement... If we're allowed to do that? On the matter at hand, does it look good? No. Do we know the details yet? No. Are we ****ed? I hope not, but right now we don't know.

This thread is a nightmare to keep up with though. You've got some people trying to stay calm and waiting to see what happens (fair enough), some people trying to make heads or tails of what's going on (fair enough), some people attempting the latter, but adding stuff they've made up, or are guessing at (a little bit weird) and some people wading in with the 'I told you so's' and genuinely loving the situation regardless of denying that they apparently don't (really weird).

    Yes, that one.

He was a sponsor, but they used the sponsorship to get more money into the club apparently.
