Has Sturridge to Bolton on loan been completed yet? Last I heard he was having a medical. I'm pretty heartless when on CM, I'd have sent Welbeck back and brought Sturridge in!

I agree mate, i thought most of the mags were great and for a few hours we pulled together in slating mercenary footballers.

That said, £30million is outrageous money, i rate Carroll i think he's potentially superb, but the toon have hardly struggled while he's been injured, and £30million is a huge amount of money for someone who has done well, but can't be classed as 'proven' based on 20-odd games.

I'd be torn if i was a toon fan on that, i really would.
 
Tell you what, Carroll and Suarez looks like a decent strikeforce, if it was Torres, who's fantastic but disinterested, for a hungry Suarez and a very talented young enlgishman, for a net loss of £5million or so, then it's good business.

Suarez and Carroll are a few years younger than Nando as well.

At first I thought that Carroll was going nowhere but the more stories I've read and the more Twitter posts I've seen it sounds that Liverpool could well up the bid. £30million is a monstrous amount of money for a striker who based on current ability is nowhere near worth that much money. Decent amount of potential but for me not £30million worth. The fact the mags press conference was cancelled is another clue potentially to suggest that they'll at least consider the offer. A relegation scrap awaits if he goes but if they stay up and have that much money to spend then that would be fantastic for them. Gonna be a mental few hours coming up....
 
What we felt during the Bent transfer is nothing compared to what the Mags must be feeling now. A teeny, tiny bit of me feels sorry for them, local lad, "not for sale," huge bid comes in, pre-match presser cancelled...
Imagine if it was Henderson and we were subject to all this last minute drama...
Then again, hee hee! Chaos at sportsdirect.com!
