Kevin Nolan has driven Carroll aross to the NW for talks? 35m is crazy. I can only think this is why Bruce was just looking for someone as basically short term cover on the cheap as it's obvious to try for someone decent would mean paying over the odds, I think Bruce will definately go for a striker for the long term in the summer when the prices aren't so ridiculous.
I'd say EVERYBODY wins on this. Every selling club has got GREAT money. Every buying club has got a player that will vastly improve them. I honestly think we are better without Bent, but with Sessegnon and Muntari, if those 2 help us into Europe, we can aim so much higher for a striker in the summer. People like Gignac, Huntelaar etc who are pipe dreams right now, could be possible. Bruce and Niall are well aware of this

interesting stat on sky - if Liverpool pay ÃÆââ¬Å¡Ãâã35million for Andy Carroll they are getting a player outscored in the Championship last season by Peter Whittingham, Nicky Maynard, Gary Hooper, Michael Chopra and Charlie Adam.

While i agree with your sentiments, i'd rather he didn't! It'd be a massive lift for them, clearly, to be handing a debut to a true world class star, they can say they were weakened all they like, we want points and a possible trip to Warsaw in the europa!
