An almost 32 yr old, experienced goal scorer, though prone to injury, currently injured versus a nimble, somewhat lightweight 23 yr old goal scorer. Perhaps there is room for both of them in our squad? We certainly need some goals.
No harm in having a bit of depth with some attacking options on our bench as other teams like Man City consistently do.
If we can get both, then superb. If only one, I would much rather Defoe. A proven goal scorer at the highest level over a number of years. Only injured until September.
We've got to put the shackles on Grifter before dozens of them parachute in here and run amok. He brought all the Swans and Leicester wums down on top of us last week too.

The swans certainly aren't my doing either, I haven't been on their board at all this season.

Just a gander at the SAFC Borini thread. It looks like there were just a few of them that were somewhat angry to the point of abuse. Worth mentioning that violence and PROFANITY is the last bastion of the ignorant. A lot of them are gutted though.

Crazy IMO - not young - going to get more injuries - asking for huge wages for a 32 year old - not played in the Prem for a year. I think he would be another Zamora - on loan.. with a pay as you play contract..great - 90k a week - no thanks
See a few rumbles on twitter of fans saying the Diarra deal might be back on? I'm guessing the hardest part of getting deals done is always the personal terms, clubs just have to say yes or no. If Diarra had agreed to join and it was just Moscow dicking about, then I'm sure that would be easy to sort, either he is their player or not, we make a bid or not? Fingers crossed it is back on cause it's always nice signing players who want to come and play for you.

The whole day is people on the phone (or FaceTime / Skype now) staring at each other seeing who blinks first - no one on twitter really knows anything - the agents are the only winners in the end. This used to not be big day when I was a kid... more TV time spent on this than on the FA Cup final day - which is a shame - all bout the $$ - God do I sound old!
"Fabio Borini, 23, arrived at Anfield when Brendan Rodgers took the job in 2012, as he paid £10m to lure Borini back to England from Roma having started his career at Chelsea. Seems Borini is doing everything he can to stall the deal with ridiculous wage demands, if this goes tits-up we'll be f*cked. Are we the only club that seems to bollox every window up?...
