According to the official twitter account Corluka has gone to Bayer Leverkusen on loan for the rest of the season. http://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/spurs/News/corluka-in-leverkusen-loan-310112.page Not sure about this, leaves us without a true backup for Walker at RB should he get injured or need a rest. If we want rid of Corluka then we should sell him in the summer and keep Naughton, getting rid of our only RB cover makes little sense to me
Walker is a robot, has he been injured yet? he's had some clouts aswell, I think an odd few games he may miss are easily covered by Kaboul, not ideal I agree but will do till the summer. Corluka wants football before the Euro's which is fair enough.
Whilst both make sense to a degree, is it really worth tempting fate? At the very least we should've probably kept Adam Smith as he has a degree of experience this season - the only other option is Jake Nicholson, who doesn't.
Trying to do some mental arithmetic with our 25-man squad here, but that means another player would have to be dropped/loaned out/sold along with Corluka. Or do we get around that because Alnwick was named in the 25 in September, and he's been out on loan ever since?
If Alnwick is still loaned out, we certainly have two free places in the squad with Charlie at Leverkusen.
If we do get Saha then my feelings will be mixed, and I'm dead against it if the transfer involves us losing Defoe in any way. I'd rather get Jelavic who seems to be banging them in for Rangers. I know it's the SPL and he's playing for one of the big boys but he's clearly got ability and we would create plenty of chances for him. At 26 he's got 7 years on Saha as well, even if he would probably cost more. Getting Damiao would be a big step for us, not only because he looks a real talent but also because of the message it sends out of we can beat other, "bigger" clubs to his signature. Still not convinced it'll happen though, as much as I'd like it to.
according to sky, saha has travelled south and rodallega won't play tonight. - Looks like they could be our new strikers. i sincerely hope it's a decoy and there's something massive going on, as slogger suggests, above.
Especially if Saha is a loan, I have heard suggested. Hopefully this 'massive going on' will be a Damiao or someone similar. Imagine if we'd somehow spirited him into the country unseen and he was unveiled at WHL tonight. That would be something!
I think I just read that Kean has told Samba to accept that he's not going anywhere, and to get on with helping Blackbum.
If we got Rodallega in and maybe Saha too, and shipped out Pav, then that will probably be good business.
Am i the only one who thinks Saha will be a solid purchase for the remainder of the season...he would be playing for Spurs not Everton now....and he will know that he better step it up to get a sniff of the grass and on top of that bHR will get the best out of him..i can see him bagging 6-10 goals for us thats about 4-8 more than a lacklustre Pav would get for us..i think its a solid short term fixture..he can play on his day...as for Defoe leaving..i cant see a team challenging at the right end of the table selling thier second best striker to liverpool in exchange for a Crouch with a ponytail
agree...Roddalega can take a good free kick anyone who plays for Spurs have to up their game or they will have a 'Pav' done to them!
I read that too - unless we're paying silly money then I think we should all just forget about Samba - his attitude hasn't impressed me this January either so perhaps we've dodged a bit of a bullet. Leandro though...we're all waiting for something along those lines similar to the VdV situation. I can't see it this time round though
exactly can you ever imagine if he actually improved as a player playing for Spurs...like they all do..then the leaches that like chelsea come sniffing around....to cut a long story short...wa.nker
