I always laugh when Rangers fans go on about Celtic fans being obsessed with Rangers. Well we are not. Rangers became who they are as a reaction to Celtic. It could have been Queen's Park, Clyde or Thistle. It just so happened that at the time of Celtic's formation Rangers were a decent team.
All those years ago Rangers fans laughed at Celtic when the club was in financial woe. I recall people telling me there was one one BIG club in Scotland and that they wouldn't miss us.
Well, life has a funny way of people getting their comeuppance. I will not miss Rangers. They have brought shame not only to Scottish football, but to Scottish society in general. Their promotion of this stupid 'supremacy' ideal (I mean how many European Champions Cups did they win?) has led to bigotry and violence.
Celtic and Rangers both have fans who are knuckle draggers, but Rangers had their bigotry institutionalised. It was part of the fabric. It was their corporate culture. Their mission statement.
Leave them to their destiny.
