Sounds like same old as of recently. Always had a bad feeling about this one. Strange listening to Tranmere Player and their (surprisingly) balanced commentary, and their views of Charlton today - not very complimentary, and expecting more in 2nd half from Addicks.
Point blank save from Williams from a Kermo header from a corner!! Pure pressure from the Addicks this half atm!! COYR!!
GOALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!! The Untouchables are level!!! Tranmere 1 Charlton 1.. Plently of time to nick a winner!!! COYR
Afternoon all. Just got off the golf course. Soaked and miserable. Looking for charlton to brighten my day. Looks like a good job I missed the first half. Sheffield wed result was a good start. COYR.
1-1 FT. Hopefully we never have to play Tranmere again, that's 5 consecutive 1-1 draws we've had against them.
Ughhh feels like 2 points dropped!! But 1st half performance wasn't good enough!! Oh well still top thats all that matters!! COYR
1-1 FT. All things considered I'll take a point. Feels bad cos Sheffield United won and closed the gap. But in reality probably a good point. We need to win our home games now!! Will be interesting to hear the reports from those who were there.
Is that right ? Thats an amazing stat. I think the way to look at this is another point further away from 3rd, and 1 less game.
I think the way to look at this is another point further away from 3rd, and 1 less game.[/QUOTE] Quite right Stu. We need to win the home games now. It is still a substantial gap. And it's a long way to third.
Considering we were 1-0 down I'm pleased with a draw, especially with Tranmeres style of play. Disappointed that Sheffield United won, but I have faith in our lads to maintain the gap. Well done to the referee for booking their keeper for time wasting, its happened in practically every game so far yet I can't recall many keepers being booked for it (other than Ben Hamer). Didn't go to the game, so for those who did, a match report/player ratings would be greatly appreciated by all
This was predicted as 1-1 at the start of the thread. I'd have taken it at half time. Gotta be honest though, we sometimes take 45 minutes just to switch on. Ah well, another point.
I will have full match report on my site tomorrow morning, just thought I would trow out some player ratings Hamer 6 only has 3 veraties of distribution roll out to Taylor or Morrison or looks long for Kermo! Solley 7 You all know I was his biggest fan before the season started, how wrong I was Wiggins 6 not up to his November form, not awful, just not good either Taylor 6 stand in capitan, a couple of mistakes, worst game i have seen him have, but by no means the worst on the pitch Morrison 7 scored one and was slightly better than his partner at the back Pritchard 5 Completely lost his shape in the first half, was better in the 4-3-3 in the second half Hollands 5 again below par, missed a sitter to win it Stephens 5 didn't look the player he was at the start of the season, apart from 2 corners his delivery was poor Green 6 tried hard, but like Dale his delivery was sub standard Kermo 6 seems to have gone off the boil as well, would drop him for Hayes next time out Haynes 6 Quick! but doesn't look like he knows how to really use it! Impact sub for him when he comes back from injury All round 6, below the standards set but not totally awful!
Just got back. Horrible performance, especially first half. What the thinking was behind pairing Haynes and Kermorgant up front together goodness only knows. If we're going through the air - BWP and Kermit, if we're going along the ground, BWP and Haynes (or Hayes) surely? Hollands and Stephens completely ineffective, particularly Stephens who scarcely played a forward pass the whole game. His free kicks were absolutely woeful. Green was shocking, although did improve in the second half mainly on the premise that he couldn't get any worse. There were bright spots - Solly was huge (again!) and the new Solly song is wonderful - his ability to get out of a tight spot and then play a constructive ball is quite extraordinary. Hamer probably played the best game I've seen him have. Outstanding double save in the first half, and the only time he did flap, he pulled off a tipover when he'd overrun the ball by a couple of feet, his shot-stopping was also very impressive. Pritchard again put in a big shift in midfield, although not as creative as usual, he won lots of ball, harried constantly and laid off really well. Best performance of the day is awarded jointly to the Charlton faithful, who never stopped singing, shouting and chanting and easily topped the eerily quiet home supporters and to the Referee and Linos who IMO were the best outfit we've seen this season - the long distance yellow card for Fon Williams was classic. I'd forgotten what a lovely ground in leafy surroundings Prenton Park is and the staff and stewards were friendly and chatty. Also saw the weirdest sign I've ever seen - "Please keep the stairways and vomitories clear" - though first of all it might have been a reference to binge drinking, but I think it's probably a Latin throwback of some sort. Another point ground out in our relentless quest for promotion, but seriously if we continue to play as badly as this someone is going to give us a right thumping.
What's the new Chris Solly song? I would have thought a partnership of Kermorgant and Haynes would be perfect - play it on the ground or in the air to Kermo and Haynes will make the runs in behind the defence. I guess that didn't work out. Hayes and BWP in for Rochdale please, Chrissy
