Back in the day I remember using Trainer Whitener on the front of my Adidas Kicks to make them look like the more expensive Adidas Samba I couldn't afford. Oh the joys of growing up on Hawthorn Ave.
Never been a trainer sort of guy, ordinary black slip on shoes look good with jeans, slacks, suits, no laces to bother with, comfy too.

My dad used to wear Farah slacks. And he also called trainers 'sand shoes'. I assume to wind me up.
I should have known better LOL in fact I practically live in jeans although for special occasions I do wear slacks, oh and I haven't a clue where The Crystal Club is, Chalk Lane was my boozer for quite some time, and I certainly didn't go dressed like that. Doesn't look like this guy (?) has heard of anti-persperant, and I prefer black shoes.

Nothing wrong with hawthorn ave . Apart from the houses and people.
I think the houses are all gone now at least the one I grew up in on Greek Street. I'm assuming the people to what with their being no houses. When we moved from there to Spring Bank West my parents told me we were going to a "posh" area. Funny how things are all relative...
I purposely used the word sneakers to emphasise my distaste for them.. That you failed to perceive that suggests you also wear a tracksuit with you plimsolls. Sad man.

Hey fellow Greek Street'r. You must have gone to Wheeler as well then?
Too many people on here concerned with what everybody else thinks its OK to wear and too many judging others on their shoes/trainers.
Wear what you like and think looks good and if others don't, stuff them and don't be a sheep
Bollocks, I know loads of 'perceived' hipsters, they all wear converse, especially when they're off to shop to buy their copy of the Guardian.
Key word there.
Wearing tight jeans, converse and some thick rimmed glasses doesn't make you a hipster, you'd be kicked out of Shoreditch for dressing like that.

Blimey I was next street along Clyde St, I was down there a couple of weeks back having a nosey around and our house is still standing, just, so I went down Greeky and its just a large open space as along Cecil St and Rhodes St its all gone.
