Markovic arrived a fresh faced attacker on the back of a successful season in Portugal, and big things were expected of him. But it’s safe to say that despite flashes of brilliance, he didn’t live up to the hype last term, and finished the campaign playing in an unfamiliar wing-back role. Hmmm. Strange in a way, as it suggests he's now undroppable. I do rate Henderson, but I really don't think he is good enough to be a guaranteed starter, especially if Can is to be moved to midfield, plus with the arrival of Firmino and Milner and possibly Illarramendi
it is one of those things. the most important thing is his ego trip needs to be parked in last season. He can't take frees and corners and throws and pens... ffs get a grip.
Interesting point, who will be pen taker? Lambert or Balotelli would be obv choices but will either of them be there? Coutinho can take corners and set pieces but not seen him take a penalty.
no neither should play. its like this, if a guy looks like he is working on it i would not mind. gerrard with respect to him was a **** pen taker in early years. he got better. same for beckham who grabbed them for ego too. Coutinho took pens in middlesboro league cup game. smashed them. for me in the end its a calmness and technique game. I just think an armband should not mean he takes over every set piece and he should focus on his game.. if he takes them and scored fine but his frees are not all that.
The cleanest and and most composed strikers of the ball IMO; Sakho, Can, Mario, Lambert. Don't think we have too many to be honest. Henderson can be however, he is technically inconsistent and I question his composure). Coutinho has the composure and bottle but doesn't always strike the ball that cleanly.
Who knows Rodgers plan for Lucas. I think he started to look better after a run of games. How about Allen?
Allen or Lucas? Allen has a beard now. This changes every thing. This season the tables will turn. This is the year the Welsh Xavi turn Xavi into the Spanish Allen.
allen has turned into the new pirlo. no literally he has!!! a new direction for the little man. I'm now allens second most ardent fan as a result. if he shaves it though... fanboy is not going to be happy.
