Base purely on how he’s run (down) our Club you really have to question how Evans has become such a wealthy man.
Ian Marshall has tweeted that he doesn’t have an endless money pot, but he’s in for buying Town and Oldham!
It’s all kicking off after Lambert had a dig at Nolan and Jackson this morning. How does Lambert STILL have a job?
It really brings it all home when I watch Championship football in particular on TV and I've been to the ground shown following Town, its not unusual that I've been to the grounds of both teams involved in the match, for me it really is a reminder of what we have lost and the poor standard of football we are playing, just pissed off, so unbelievably pissed off.
According to TWTD Evans’ meeting with Lambert was brought forward to yesterday afternoon, the end may be in sight!
Nothing would surprise me with ITFC any more. Maybe they were discussing extending his current contract. 1 of the reasons Hurst was got rid of because he criticised the players after a bad game. PL has come out & basically thrown Jackson & Nolan under the bus. Jackson especially has a right to feel aggrieved, I still think he should be in the team (in a 2 with Norwood) but more simply, he certainly isn’t the own player to be sent off this season
Maybe, or maybe Lambert has been shrewd and saved his skin for another 12 months. Evans and bullshit go hand in hand.
TWTD is reporting that the meeting is next week and that they had their usual conversation yesterday.
A mate of mines just told me there's a big article in today's Telegraph about the decline of ITFC, and Evans was keen to stress that he is owed £96M by the Club up to last season, it seems almost unbelievable that someone could make a total bollocks of running a business and expect someone else to pay for his incompetence.
Through a Paul Tisdale in the hat there then? I don't think anyone would he content even if they saw progress with a mid table finish, unless someone took over this season and you could see green shoots!!
I've seen highlights of some Ipswich matches under Magilton recently and this was after ME came in and the football we played was pretty good, we had half decent players then aswell. To think at the time most people wanted Jim out because progress wasn't quick enough....
Not many wanted Magic to go. We had Giovanni Dos Santos, it was an exciting time. We should have broken the bank to sign him.
Poor management here. Surely trying to get the sack. You can put players in the reserves as a punishment but don't shout about it in the press. Hurst started doing this.... you do wonder if its the fact our managers are always pretty much the only person to front up any criticism. It seems to get to them all eventually
I didn't but I do remember at the time there was a vocal majority who felt the time had come, plus the press had turned against him by the end
I was very pleased with Jim and the quality of the football, I think his dismissal after winning the local derby was a disgrace at the time and it was the last time we actually won a derby match.
Yes it was a great game with Jaimie Peters coming on and really getting us going when we were starting to flag, and Allan Lee playing in yellow and getting dogs abuse, little did we know that Keane was watching and waiting to take over and so the rot started.
