Utd at home is not a bad game for Hull. Utd will finish 4th regardless. Some players might be "injured" i.e on their holidays by then including Utd's best (De Gea, Rooney). Utd look toothless in front of goal without Rooney and the defence may not welcome the bombardment Hull will have to give it to have any chance.

In fact, it's just about the best fixture they could hope for in the circumstances.

Alternatively, they may face a group of motivated fringe players with one last chance to impress the manager.
Van Gaal might stumble upon a system which works, too.
Time will tell, but Hull need a win and their strikers all look to have a case of the Adebasoldados at the moment.

I'm inclined to agree with you and I also think Bruce might be right in saying there's still a final twist in this season yet. Having said that, if they can't score against us, then they've got no bloody hope !!

Steve Bruce's career record vs Man Utd: W0 D4 L17

That said, I really hope he breaks his duck this weekend.

I would have happily taken a defeat vs Hull to help relegate Newcastle. But Spurs ruined my dreams.

Yeah, but if i put my optimist hat on we could miss out on Europe next year and then challenge for the title, only failing when Ryan Mason slips and gifts a victory to Chelsea right at the death of the season.

My optimist hat can go no farther than to make me wonder if Hull was the beginning of a needed defensive improvement. We didn’t gift them as many chances as usual, and actually scored one on the counter.
