RD - next time theyre all laughing at sherwood on JA for picking chadli in CM, could you possibly advise them that that's where he's played most of his games for Belgium, and that he kept dembele out of the side in that role for some time <cheers>
 
If you give me links to some credible Chadli Belgium CM stats, I will consider your request.
BTW has he actually been any good for them when playing there (or was their manager
Jan Ver Timmy) ??
 
Fair enough. Reasonable stance that. And tbh, i dont know, lol. I have seen him there in a couple of belgium line ups tho. I'll have a look and see if i can find anything.
 
So we have gone from he played most of his games for belgium there, keeping Dembele out of the team..to now "don't know" :D

After attracting the attention of first division clubs, in 2010 Chadli moved to Twente and quickly became a regular first team choice on the wing. Since then he has scored 40 goals in 123 games, including his first European goal in a Champions League game against Spurs.
In the past season, Chadli has tended to play more in central midfield for both club and country. For Belgium under Georges Leekens, Chadli was seen as a winger in competition with Eden Hazard, Dries Mertens and Kevin Mirallas but that changed once Marc Wilmots took over. Wilmots has tended to use him in a creative midfield role. In that position, Chadli&#8217;s had more minutes (220 in four games) than Marouane Fellaini (204) in World Cup qualifiers and it appears that Wilmots rates the ex Twente player highly. After the match with Macedonia, Wilmots said Chadli had changed the game after coming on as a substitute. &#8220;We profited from Chadli&#8217;s strength, speed and heading ability.&#8221;
Chadli has certainly grasped his opportunities. In the rankings given by the Dernière Heure newspaper, he&#8217;s had the highest ratings (7.5) &#8211; along with Axel Witsel &#8211; of any Belgian player in the qualifiers. Ironically, one of his main competitors for a place in Belgium&#8217;s midfield will be club colleague Dembélé.

Status update :

With Dawson gone, in order to have a squad with 25 over 21s players,
Obika and Mason must remain to ensure the minimum of 8 HG players.
 
Front post updated, not including Obika until I see some indication he is to be included in First team squads, or he is included in the 25. With 17 overseas players, our new centre half (if he arrives) will keep someone else out.
 
With Fazio imminent, some serious horse-trading is going to be necessary on the overseas roster.
BAE is the obvious sacrificial lamb.
