Morning people...I been doing my research on Willian and I'm Willian to by the hype

Seems to have a better eye for goal than Lennon, loves his stepover trick but seems slightly headless and extremely right footed...I baulk at anything over 14 mill .

i said in another post i'd seen him a few times. whati've seen is a player who can play on both wings, and will run at players in a straight line in order to gain ground, and will then win free kicks. he seems like an intelligent footballer. he's also got some flair/skills which i think the fans will love. and... he uses the ball well. Lennon get's close to goal and 80% of the time, buckles. either a **** cross, **** pass or just generally wastes it.

What I will say Roo is that if we get him and Dembele then expect some out of the blue blockbuster goals...<diva>.Spurs do not do enough netbusters.

Can either offer that though? Don't know if willian can and not seen dembele do it too often...

William aside I think all of your signings/targets are top quality and would improve any side. You look to be assembling a tidy squad and if AVB can utilise the talent he has at his disposal aptly, you look certain to be knocking on the door of CL football once again

Pleased about Dembele, assuming he signs.

But we still need a striker and a keeper.

Loris sounds hopeful, but a striker seems less so.

I'll be very surprised if willian is considered the "striker".reports seem to use "striker" in the title when linking us to him. but the impression I have is that he's more of an attacking player who can play out wide, too.

I don't think that solves our issues.

Im still of the opinion we'll be battling for Damiao till the death and if it falls through, we'll be in for Remy.

i've also seen something that suggests that Lyon called us to say "do you still want Lloris?", haing not hearing from us after a bid a couple of months ago. apparently they've just picked up the phone and said "ok, we'll accept you're offer from awhile ago, if you're still interested?!" hahahaha

Different to lennon but can play out wide on both sides. Clever and skilful. Worth 18 mill.... Dunno.

We need someone who can play on the right who can cross though. It's a very weak part of lennons game which doesn't appear to be getting much better.

Gotta have 2 very dangerous wide men who can deliver, for this formation to work. (IMO)

So a replacement or upgrade for GDS?

I would never boo a player, seems rather sad if any fan boos one of their own players at a game, regardless of how crap he is.

I remember the treatment of Chris Armstong, was a disgrace, especially as at one point him and teddy sheringham formed a fantastic partnership and Armstrong had the task of replacing Jurgen.

I also remember the booing of Simon Davies, the welsh kid, who looked a fantastic player before he got injured.

Seems to be a pattern there, look a decent player, be unfortunate enough to get injured, come back half the player and your own fans will turn on you.

Nice!

I remember some old bugger spending 45 minutes of my first trip to WHL bellowing at Jason Dozzell, before the bloke in front of him put him in his place.

However, there are reasons most of us want Jenas gone:
* He can't break up play like Parker
* He doesn't have the workrate of Sandro (or Dembele*)
* He can't pass like Huddlestone
* He isn't improving every time he plays like Livermore
* He doesn't have the potential of Carroll or Luongo (or Lameiras, Bentaleb or Gomelt)

There is nothing about Jenas that justifies him being a member of the squad, and he has a lot of negatives (especially his failings when it comes to the defensive side of his game)

When the booing started on Saturday, my first thought was that it was against the decision to take Defoe off, but as it went up a level when Jenas came on, I realised it was mainly aimed at him.

I now remember that Jenas was booed when he played at Stevenage in the pre-season game a few weeks ago. On that occasion, the Spurs support was more of a family group rather than the usual away following, so to see grown men stand up and boo a Spurs player and then watch their kids stand up and do the same, was just awful.

Hi Roo, I know next to nowt about Willian, but I agree he doesn't seem to be a striker.

Incidentally if Lyon did make the call on Loris, then fine all credit to ENIC. But boy what a gamble, because if we were prepared to have Friedel in goal all season for the sake of 2/3m, then it would have been more false economy from ENIC.

Anyway, I'll be fair and say all credit and plaudits to ENIC for Dembele and Loris, assuming they sign. But if we don't get a striker we still won't trouble the top 4.

All iMHO of course.

Hi OS, thanks for the confirmation that what I'd read elsewhere was true. Makes me sick to my stomach and to be in no hurry whatsoever to go to the Lane this season.

Wanting JJ gone is fine, I want him to leave as well. Saying nasty things about him on the internet is not pleasant for me to read, as I think it's OTT. Booing him when he appears on the pitch, disgraceful.
