VDV used to score some great free kicks, as did SIggy, and Bale used to score great free kicks when he was 17, something happens when they join us, takes them years to finally realise they can actually take a free kick.

Although I want to jump on the Eriksen bandwagon started by you and SOS so I hope you're both right about this player.

Yes Roo and SoS you will both be held to account if Eriksen fails to shut Boss up. <ok>

I can only go from what i've seen. As things stand, he's exactly what we need. Just gotta hope he adapts.
There's no bandwagon to jump on. he's a player I admire, but i'm not a football manager, so I could well be wrong.
However, he's going to struggle to be any ****ing worse that the creative options we saw last season. - "Sweet F.A." i think his name was.

Did you see that via twitter? If so, that account is a fake one mate,

yeah, I was just about to correct that.

That tweet gave me the slightest glimmer of hope. Now I know it's fake, Mata isn't even worth having a hypothetical discussion about.

Pressure getting to you already Roo ! LOL

no... <whistle>

lots of rumours sugesting that Benny and Carroll with be going to QPR.

where's spurcat when you need him?

Be a great move for Carroll if true, as much as I rate the lad he has to move now, no point in hanging about hoping for the odd game here and there.

European football writer Andy Brassell: "If there's anything that might convince Zenit St Petersburg to let Hulk go to Tottenham, it would be the arrival of a top-quality replacement.

"Respected journalist Artur Petrosyan says on his Twitter account that a delegation from Russia's richest club have arrived in Kiev in an attempt to broker a move for Dynamo winger Andriy Yarmolenko, who has also sparked the interest of Liverpool.

"Hulk would be keen to work with Andre Villas-Boas again, but the tricky part in any deal has always been the Brazilian's wages.

"He is reported to earn £8.5m per season gross, which works around £7.4m take home with Russia's low level of top-rate tax. Spurs would need to pay Hulk £13.5m just to match that."

Hulk?

rumours emerging that Mata is attracting PSG. - maybe we'll go in for Pastore if this is true?

It's easy forget that we have spent £40 million on Lamela and Eriksen who are still to come into the team. I'm desperate for more signings even though we have made loads already. I guess it's just what we are accustomed to here at Spurs on deadline day!

All I want is a LB or for AVB to bring Ekotto back into the team. Rose has been pretty good but I still see him no where near Ekotto's standard.

I really hope AVB doesn't see Rose as a long term LB option.

it's mad to think that even after signing 7 players, we're still desperate for another player!

I want to see us send out promising players on loan a la Townsend and unwanted players to be sold to free up money, to let them go some where they are wanted and so we do not have negative stories coming out of the club.

Thinking 50 million plus Ozil was the deal you should have gone for!! If selling Bale has helped grease the wheels for an Ozil to Arsenal, that could be a big backfire by Levy.

we wouldn't have got him though. wages + no CL football. However, there should have been a clause in Bales contract (or this pathetic partnership) that RM can't sell players to arsenal. - That'd have been more realistic to expect!

I wouldn't be desperate for one if AVB brought Benny back from obscurity but seeing as that's unlikely, I don't particularly like the idea as Rose as our number 1 LB.

It's just part of our fantastic partnership with Real Madrid. We spoil them with our best players and in return, they help strengthen our fierce rivals.

Seriously speaking though, I preferred getting the straight cash sum as having a player come in return could backfire on us, there's a good chance the player has been force into to the deal and so therefore you're not getting a player that actually wants to play for you which could show in performances.

I think Ozil is a class player though BUT if the £42.5m figure is correct, that's a hell of a lot money for Arsenal to spend on an area that they're not exactly weak in. None the less it'll excite their fans massively. Still think a GK and a 20-25 goal a season striker is what they truly need. Though there's enough time for them to do more deals than just Ozil.
