Twitter said we signed Villa, moutinho, dameow, William etc etc so taking all this with a pinch of salt tbh
Is there a danger when three or four new players get put into a team? Total strangers who have to gel and who are not known by their team mates. It seems to me that the harmony of the side is broken when so many new players come in. Maybe I'm wrong, enlightenment please.
Last season Gylfi ,Dempsey ,Moussa and lloris so 3-4 new players integrated fairly well, having said that it was a gradual process as season had started before Lloriss and Dempsey signed, if they come in for pre season surely it shouldn't take too long to gel .
If the 3-4 players are brought in early it'll work. United always do their business early and they haven't done too bad!!
Yeah, comfortable on the ball like Dembele too from what I've seen. Not entirely sure how well it would work if he, Sandro and Dembele all lined up together but they share many of the same strengths with just the odd difference as Paulinho's not quite as strong but better in front of goal whilst Sandro isn't as good passing but excels in defending and Dembele's tackling isn't so great but there's not a player in the World that can take the ball off him, it seems. Crucially though, if one of them's out like you'd expect to happen at times during the season, we still have 2 similar players and can throw Holtby or Carroll into the mix whilst still having a strong midfield partnership that can afford them a bit more time and space, which they need.
Paulinho would be a good coup for you lot, £17million is a good price with the money being thrown about nowadays. I reckon he'll turn out better than City's Fernandinho at the very least. Only concern would be similar to Coutinho, Brazillian's seem to peak quite early compared to other players, they tend to drop dramatically once the peak is over (ala Kaka, Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, Fred, Robinho? etc.) No doubt a quality signing though, best years ahead of him and can provide a few years of potentially world class quality at the very least and then could be moved on for a large fee to most likely Real Madrid and the squad can benefit from the income.
But all those players (apart from Fred) got greedy and moved about where ever the money was being offered. They didnt give a ****, despite their talent.
It seemed like a rather daft rumour, why on Earth would any of the involved feel the need to sign on contract terms before there's any deal in place when they've not agreed a deal and there's so long to go in the window? Inter would be in no rush and from the sounds of things that was shown up by a lack of urgency in Inter's negotiations with the club. It doesn't benefit Paulinho and his agent either as the more competition coming in thew better for the size of the contract they could get even if he still ended up going to Inter. The only people that would've gained anything from it would've been the club as they may have sparked a scramble to sign him before he's gone, prompting us to bid the release clause rather than wait until after the Confederations Cup like us and others might have wished to. Wouldn't be surprised if that's where the rumour came from.
Not for Cafu, Roberto Carlos, Gilberto Silva, Ze Roberto and Juninho(Lyon one) off the top of my head. It's all about attitude and some are overhyped which doesn't help. Nothing specific to Brazil, in my opinion.
I really don't think it's fair to generalise with Brazilians any longer, IMO it's lazy mantra, they used to be renowned for being flair players, so it's understandable why they'd perhaps peak early on. Players like Ramires, Sandro, Pauliniho, Fernandinho are not the type you'd associate with Brazil normally. We've had Ramires for 3 full seasons and he seems to get better and better as the season progresses. He only stagnated last season because of being played out of position and Benitez but he's got better and better for us. **** Twitter
The guy on twitter who said that paulinho was all but done, is now saying that he's had confirmation on it and we'll see it on the OS soon.
But got us aa record points tally os. That is nothing to be trifled at. If Arsenal hadn't gone on championship winning form after losing to us we would be in the Champions league.
I don't ever envisage sitting down with my grandchildren and reminiscing about the good old days when we achieved a record points tally. Sorry, but I have never bought into that so called acheivement because it counts for nothing when we still drop a league position. .
Yes I know that O. Spurcat which is why I'm wondering why he's all of a sudden in great demand. If he'd led us to 2nd I'd have understood why but 5th???
