All of a sudden AVB has gone from nothing to VIP,he led us to 5th and he's in great demand already. I have to say that I'm taking to him. St George of England, Aragon and Portugal so we have something in common. If Paulinho has been signed then Come On You Spurs, get some more in.
Looks to be a good signing IF it's true. But remember, this is The Fail reporting this. I think I'll reserve my excitement until see something official!...
Yeah - right. Or even something with a quote. It's so weird how the story can be "Corinthians have accepted a bid" whilst containing not one piece of evidence to back that up. How do they at the Mail know a bid has been accepted? Telepathy? And even if a bid is accepted we have to then deal with the player and his demands. We'll see. But a headline reading "Club X have accepted a bid" with no direct quotes from either club is very far from an announcement on the official site that a deal is completed along with a photo of the guy holding a Spurs shirt. So what sort of player is this Paulinho, then? out-and-out CM? More defensive-minded? Replacement for Parker/Livermore or more attacking than them?
Talk about mixed messages... http://www.sambafoot.com/en/news/48...l_with_corinthians_for_paulinho_-_report.html http://www.sambafoot.com/en/news/48...blems_for_corinthians__paulinho_-_report.html Also, let's be honest, it is the Daily Heil - yesterday they were saying Real had gazumped us for his signature. Bernard, meanwhile, could go either way - his agent says we're the only contenders for his signature, yet Bernard is talking up the possibility of moving to Porto.
http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11095/8787465/? Corinthians have confirmed that negotiations are gathering pace with Tottenham regarding the transfer of Paulinho. The Brazil international, who is currently impressing in the Confederations Cup, has long been linked with a move to Europe with Tottenham among the clubs interested. Spurs were yet to have firmed up their interest as recently as last week, but reports now suggest that a £17million bid for the midfielder has been accepted. Corinthians director of football Edu - a former Arsenal player - has confirmed that there have been further developments and a move to London now looks likely. When asked about the interest from the White Hart Lane club, Edu told UOL: "The situation is well underway. "We have to agree on some details of the negotiation, so I can't say he will leave yet, but the negotiations are good." The 24-year-old made his Brazil debut in 2011 and was recently on target for his country against England at the Maracana. There's some quotes. It sounds like its as good as done. Why would they bother saying anything otherwise?
Well that's sort of ideal, really. I like the idea of a CM being made up of players like Sandro and Dembele who aren't out of place anywhere on the pitch. Oh - and Sky have even bothered to quote a source at Corinthians now. Though what's said is much less emphatic than the Mail headline: ----------------------------------- When asked about the interest from the White Hart Lane club, Edu told UOL: "The situation is well underway. "We have to agree on some details of the negotiation, so I can't say he will leave yet, but the negotiations are good."
Oh! Telegraph's joining in now - but with the high-quality journalistic tool of saying that a deal "is believed" to be done. Which is another way of saying that some hack is watching the newsnow website and passing on anything they read on the blogs or, worse, the Mail website.
Basically look at Sandro. Take away a little defensive strength and add a little attacking flair and goalscoring. A midfield 3 of Dembele Sandro Paulinho would be incredible.
Who knows? I'm sure most people haven't got a clue. Brazil caps might seem to be an indicator but then isn't it the case that loads of Brazil-based players get the odd caps here and there as so many players play in Europe? So for qualifiers for the South American championship and World Cup, and local friendlies, very few of the best players fly over? Heard that ages ago. Explains some of the players we've seen with quite a few Brazil caps. Gilberto, one of the worst Spurs players in recent years, has 35 (!) and Arsenal's Santos has 24.
From what I've seen, he's got a good physical presence defensively, he's pacey, but he also has a bit of flair and will aid us going forwards. An interesting transfer this one, in terms of twitter and its "ITK's", that is. The stories in the paper have come about from 1 individual who made the claim, who is well respected. Hopefully there might actually be someone who's reliable. Oh, and going back to paulinho - the fee will break our transfer record. Can't believe no one has mentioned that yet!
Dear District means well but he is prone to mistakes..............................................but I like him. Right now let's get two strikers.
