I see Peterborough have picked up striker Dembele from Grimboys.

That should be us in for him next season at about £3 million, which will be about £5 million short of what they want for him.

Just to note!
I've never seen him play, I know nothing about him, I have heard a few good things about him though & I'm just going off our history of missing out on bargains & Peterborough picking up absolute steals, then making a huge killing when they sell them on.

At the time he was never going to be ahead of Huddlestone & Livermore, maybe a loan would have worked better, but hindsight is great when its 20/20!

To be fair I think the majority of us on here at the time said we should keep him and he did play 49 league games over the previous two seasons so was hardly never playing either.

He was always a decent player, but he never really kicked on until he left us. He was way too defensive when he played for us, with lots of people complaining about it on here, and jokes about his back always being to goal. Whether this was him or team tactics, is hard to say.

The second he joined Blackburn he was transformed into the creative attacking playmaker he is now. If he'd stayed with us there is no guarantee he would be a 20m player. He'd probably have been released anyway.

West Ham United's Sam Byram is on his way to Nottingham Forest on loan.

Forest are also close to signing Fabio on a permanent from Boro.

They're certainly going for it.
