Torres had a terrible half season last year. This season he seems to be improving by the game. He may not have been spectacular on Tuesday, but it was his best game yet.I predict within the next 5 or 6 games he will be an automatic choice and a regular star performer.

Chelsea bought him to score lots of goals for them,it has'nt happened and a couple of assists on tuesday wont keep his detractors at the Bridge happy.

& the reasons for spamming the Arsenal board with it?

Liverpool did well to sell him and buy 2 decent forwards with the money.

35m for Caroll and he is "decent" at best when on form, no touch and can't trap a bag of wet cement. Massive rip off. Suarez on the other hand is better than Torres full stop, top quality buy. Liverpool by far got the better of the deal despite blowing their bag on that mule Carroll.

Carrol was for sale for 1 million the season before.

We can write Carroll off, but if he goes off in one season, just as Berbatov did, and helps us to win our first Prem title and our 19th, then it will be well worth it.

But at the moment he is a bit s***.

Lucas....Suarez would be a useful squad player of at Man United, though he would not be a first team regular. Rooney and Hernandez are both better forwards.

When you see the liles of Fabregas being sold for 35 million, and then you see Carroll going for a similar fee, it has to make you laugh

For some strange reason, the phrase "Dopey ****" springs to mind

That comment alone shows how mis informed you are.

Carroll + his wages (which we are contractually obliged to pay unless he is transferred) = £55.8m

Cesc + his wages = £70m

Thats hardly a "similar fee"

Also... Didn't Utd spend £7.4m on a player who was availible for free only a year before - People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones!

I can assure you SAF would not drop Rooney or Hernandez for a player who has already missed a penalty and an open goal this season

Why not? Rooney played for a year without scoring, Veron made over 50 apperances and Forlan made over 60 (including a season where he scored just 4 league goals in 24 appearances - Even Heskey scored more that season!!!)

.
He's better than everyone bar Rooney, who is probably his equal?

On the basis of a very short time in the PL! Fair play.

He's good, obviously, but in no way is on Rooney's level and on scoring record and the evidence of our own eyes Hernandez is as good, easily.
He's a better player than the rest yes, but I was only making a joke.

I know he has an accomplished international record but I'd personally like to see a full season, i.e. this season, of constistent scoring before bigging him up too much. You certainly got a better player than Torres with half the money accrued. Shame a **** load was also blown on an average CF. And that wasn't a joke.

Carroll went for a bigger upfront fee than Fabregas, that is wrong on every level.

Whatever Carroll is getting paid it is too much, He should be labouring on a building site thats about all the guy is fit for. He's not a footballer of any quality.

Bozz....Newcastle recieved a similar amount of cash, to what Arsenal did for Fabregas, that is the fact of the matter, regardless of wages.

As for the rest of the numpty's trying to claim Suarez is even the equal of Wayne Rooney, have you been smoking something stronger than tobacco? Suarez is a good player, plenty of skill, but he is along way off Rooneys level, and every top coach in Europe would agree. Hernandez doesn't have the creativity and trickery of Suarez but he is a far more clinical finisher, and is the perfect partner for Wayne Rooney. There is no way SAF would swap Hernandez for Suarez.

I can guarantee you that both Rooney and Hernandez will outscore Suarez in the league this season. Rooney has started 4 and has scored 8. Hernandez has started 1 and scored 2, having been injured for the first few games. Both players averaging 2 goals per game in the league so far. Suarez is averaging less than 1:biggrin:
