Torres is finished, *this is a player who isn't just on a bad run, he has been crap for over a year now. People claim his dire form has been down to the lack of creativity in Chelseas midfield, and that is utter nonsense, whilst Chelsea don't have the same creativity of a Barcelona or a Man Utd they are still a very strong side, with good players.*

Take the World Cup, Torres was playing through the middle with the superior Villa forced out wide. Torres had the likes of Xavi, Iniesta and Alonso playing balls to him, yet he still failed to score a single goal. That's why Spain won every game 1-0, because despite having an amazing midfield and defence, they had no fire power through the middle, and there only goal threat was coming from Villa from a wide position. I have no doubt in my mind that had Lorrente started through the middle in every game, the spanish would have won by far greater score lines.*

Torres is one of those players, who has worked very hard to reach the top, and by that I mean he's earning the mega bucks now. Though now he's made it, there is no motivation to work hard to stay at the top of his game. A little like a few high profile Brazilians, the likes of Kaka and Ronaldinho in recent years, who were well past there sell by dates by the time they reached there late 20s. When your earning 200k a week, and that's guaranteed for the next 4 years, weres the motivation to keep training hard. There are some players, like Ryan Giggs for example who clearly just love playing football, and are still passionate enough to train hard, and look after themselves, then there's others who can't be bothered. These lazy players think they are so good that they don't need to put the effort in anymore to stay at the very top, and they all find out it's impossible to play well at the highest level if you don't work hard, no matter how much talent you have.*

Chelsea once again have been suckered into paying a fortune for a player who is past his prime, but the alarm bells were there beforehand with his poor performances for Spain and Liverpool, so who can have any sympathy for Chelsea, a side who can afford to take a risk on a player for 50 million. If he's no good they can just buy another one, that's what the Chelsea's and Man City's of this world can afford to do.*

Now Torres is guaranteed his massive wages for the next 5 years, you guys are stuck with a 50 million pound player, who can't be bothered. Much like Shevchenko, who loved his time at Chelsea, 120k a week and he rarely even had to play a match for it. A couple of hours training in the morning and then he's on the Golf Course. Thankyou very much Mr Abramovich.*

If I were Chelsea I would try and get rid now, he doesn't offer your side anything. People claim he played well on Tuesday, that is utter nonsense, he played 4 yard pass to Luiz, something any Sunday league player would have been capable of doing. It was Luiz that did all the hard work. He did well for the 2nd, when there was plenty of space at the back as Leverkusen were chasing the game, but it was hardly anything special, he got a lucky break to get by the defender, were the ball bounced well for him, and he played a simple pass across goal, again a Sunday League player could have made that pass. When Torres had a sight at goal on Tuesday, he was like a rabbit in headlights, and made a few embarrassing attempts, for a player who is supposed to be worth 50 million:biggrin:

I wouldn't mind if Torres scored one or two this weekend against Man U to be honest. After that, he can go back to being a shadow of his former self.

This seems personal, has Torres done something to the OP to deserve the rant? Did he give you a wrong phone number or something?

Nothing personal, just sick of all the pundits making excuses for him, and in some way trying to claim he had a good game Tuesday night. They keep saying he needs time. 22 games later

He has the ability, but I don't think he'll ever realise it at Chelsea. They're not fast paced enough and he's not fast enough.

Why would we want to gloat about something that happened 9 months ago? I actually want Torres to start scoring now so he can be seen more as a Chelsea striker then an ex-Liverpool striker.

& the reasons for spamming the Arsenal board with it?

Liverpool did well to sell him and buy 2 decent forwards with the money.

Suarez is no pikey, and he's better than most players in Man Utd's attack.

Torres had a terrible half season last year. This season he seems to be improving by the game. He may not have been spectacular on Tuesday, but it was his best game yet.I predict within the next 5 or 6 games he will be an automatic choice and a regular star performer.
