Some great, iconic picks mentioned above mind. Gonna go a bit different and if we’re talking “heroes” as such I’ll go with folk I remember watching as a bairn and being in awe. Not as great as some of the others like!
I have to put Superkev in simply because i’m a 90s child. My first taste of Sunderland was just after the SoL was built so my early memories were of his golden boot season.
Messi - never see another footballer like him in my lifetime. Phenomenally gifted. No debate to be had over Ronaldo or anyone else for the matter, none of them come close.
Ricky Hatton - Bit of a left field pick but I boxed when I was younger and used to love the bloke. Dad used to get his mates round for PPV boxing and let me stay up with them to watch it, loved his fights and the camaraderie that came with them.
Novak Djokovic - to break through in the sport whilst it was being dominated by Federer and an upcoming Nadal a few years ahead of him then finally blow them both away then continually break records whilst being world number 1 for the equivalent of about 10 years is something else. Only one to ever win all of the big titles, a triple grand slam etc.
Kevin Pieterson - played cricket as a teenager and remember watching the 2005 Ashes and he was just twatting the Aussie bowlers all over at every opportunity. Remember playing against teams with lads getting blonde dyed into their hair.![]()
In no order
Nadal & federer - both for the same reasons. Artist on the court. What nadal did on clay was incredible.
Bolt- an utter machine. Don’t think I can do anything impressive in under 10 seconds
Ronaldinho - a joy to watch. Utterly brilliant, those two goals against England at the 2002 World Cup *chefs kiss* annoyingly
Michael Schumacher, alright for a German I guess

Was waiting for a reply like this,I sometimes manage to give my lass the best 10 seconds of her life if im feeling energetic

Stallion mate.
(sorry couldn’t resist that one)Senna definitely on my list. Loved his attitude, Verstappen tries to be same but without the charisma and just comes across as a whining little bitchIn no particular order…
Ayrton Senna
Tony McCoy
Roger Federer
Johan Cruyff
Red Rum
