Think a lot of us felt like leaving after the way they went on after Gary Speed died but I think when everyone calmed down and started to get over it those people (including myself), realised it wasn't worth leaving and to just ignore them, as there are plenty of decent posters and why let a couple of morons spoil it.

What does it achieve though? Is it some sort of protest or something?

If people enjoy this forum, but they get SO offended that they literally have no choice but to leave to avoid the trauma of some of these images, then I'd say they were very unusually sensitive.

Whys that?
People don't have to put up with crap yes it's a forum but if he's had enough of the crap then he can leave surely why does he have to re-evaluate his life ........strange choice of words

What crap are they putting up with though? If you stop a second, and look around, you'll suddenly realise that this forum is just a tiny insignificant nothing on your computer screen. Some people get way too emotionally intertwined in it.

It's rather easy to simply avoid looking at any of these images, but if even getting caught out by the occasional image is still too traumatic to handle, then just stop posting without any grand exits.

Because if you get emotional and upset by what is written on a forum you must evaluate if you actually have a life in the first place

He was a **** poster, he kept responding like an idiot to them, made a ridiculous thread and then threw a tantrum and left. Good.

Geordies are supposed to be hard

You lot the Ant and Dec generation?

"call the police" but make sure its not the emergency number incase some dogs stuck up a tree

Poor wee lambs
You grassed anyone up lately it's been a while since you cried to admin about your so called mates

Irony

Agree with that but to say re evaluate your life come on

I think it's a fair statement, as if someone is getting THAT emotionally intertwined to the point where they must 'leave' a website with a grand exit, then they should take a step back, re-evaluate and just check whether the line between the internet and real life is starting to get a little too blurred to be healthy.

I'm guessing your username is an ironic warning, because your response to the matter dictates a brain ability depleted by numerous falls and concussions etc...

But no, you're right, if I get mugged, I won't call the police because I'm a hard Geordie. If I see someone getting beaten up near St James', I'll just assume they can take it because our training is akin to the Spartiates...

<doh> Idiotic parasite. If a crime, and some of the things on GC clearly are crimes, is committed, they shouldn't hide behind a computer screen. It would give me enormous pleasure to know some of the terrible excuses for human beings on here are being removed and fined or jailed.

Your probably right and to be honest some people just can't seem to use the ignore function but some things on here do get out of hand and I'm sure there are a lot of people on here where the internet is their life housebound, disabled, lonely whatever so some people do over react in the eyes of others

You could also apply your logic to football and the over reaction that can cause as well

Yet you are unmoved by beastiality

Think it is, but you are right personally I don't think its worth it, at the end of the day they don't want us lot here so by leaving we are responding to it and letting them win. Also it does seem to becoming an embarrassing trend on here that people are writing these articles. When I posted on the old 606 it never happened and when I stopped posting on there in late 2008, early 2009 time I just went.

Errmmm... The internet is real life dear... Otherwise are wasting our "real life" to go on it. It's not a cyber-dreamland-dimension where there are no consequences... I have no problem with people taking offence at something written on the internet, and the channels for reporting it are the same. Authors are just as responsible and culpable for what is written as a football fan is when screaming something obscene... Check the law.

Melodramatic leaving ceremonies are not always selfish, and not at all symptomatic of someone not understanding the internet/"real world" as you call it. Someone who genuinely has decent input and does not incite hatred is, as far as I'm concerned, depart with a protest. Personally I prefer to ignore idiots like Mind Your Step, and posts which are offensive, but if you find that there's more of these posts than decent ones, leaving is well within your right, and a broadside at idiots who actually need to revaluate their lives (WUMs etc) in leaving is perfectly acceptable, in my opinion.

Yeah you really make wums reevaluate themselves by having a wee cry before you leave

You're right about one thing though.....if you don't like something then ignore it...

...unless its your husbands depression

If people feel the need to leave a forum they need to re-evaluate their life? I totally agree on 'grand exits' and all that sort of hilarity obviously. But what if you just don't enjoy using it anymore? Do you just have to stay there anyway and waste your time simply so that certain people don't think you're in need of re-evaluating your life?

Strange..

That's utter bollox.

Nothing to do with re-evaluting my life more to do with I might want to leave my browser open on here but can't in case my kids use the computer and see a thread with some bird shagging a dog or with her arse ripped open. The forum is for everyone not just dickheads posting beastiality & people that don't find it offensive. Yours is a very insulure view, you're not bothered so **** the rest.
