I said a short while back it's the beginning of the end for Southgate. He's the luckiest fcker I've ever seen in charge of England, but he's still useless because we should have done better in both tournaments given the amount of luck he got. I mean, look at his group for the WC ffs - but I think Wales might turn us over.

Almost every decent team in the PL plays 4-3-3 with relatively high full backs. Only he can explain why he pisses about with 3 at the back and other nonsense. Just get an identity, pick the best players for that formation and you're all good. I feel like I've said the same thing about every England manager aside from Venables and Robson.

The problem is none of those teams playing 4-3-3 have to have 2 English CB's... the only excuse for this run of form is he's been trying out players like Bowen and Gallagher, Guhei etc. All the newer lads to the group were awful last night. Bowen looked like a child playing in a mans game. Gallagher won't get picked again ever on that performance, Guhei was so anonymously average it hurt and Ramsdale (who I think will be a great keeper) had a proper mare. Then you have the experienced players like Walker, Philips Saka, Kane all being equally useless and that's what you get.

Southgate has done well previously and he won't go before the World Cup in December - I mean what's the point? 2 glorified friendlies before then to get an new manager in a nd implement a style with their squad pick - not going to happen. Might as well ride our luck and see if Southgate can pull something out of the hat.

I think our squad is set up to play 3-4-2-1 perfectly.

23 man squad should look like:

GK - Pickford, Ramsdale, Pope
RCB - Walker, Reece James
CB - Maguire, Tomori
LCB - Stones, Coady
RWB - TAA, Trippier
CM - Rice, Philips
CM - Bellingham, JWP
LWB - Chilwell, Saka
RAM - Rashford, Sancho
LAM - Foden, Grealish
CF - Kane, Abraham

Reserves Squad
GK - Forster,
CBs - Mings, Mitchell, Guehi
FBs - Justin, Shaw
CM - Henderson, Dier
CAM - Smith-Rowe, Maddison
CF - DCL

This is just a really really long way of saying Mason Mount and Sterling shouldn't be near that squad! Nor Bowen or Gallagher - complete waste of space taking those 4 over he last break.

Some really good points but as regards Sterling I fail to see how anyone could pick Rashford ahead of him. Let's not ignore that last tournament our results were 1-0 (sterling), 0-0, 1-0 (sterling), 2-0 (sterling, kane) - not sure what Rashford has done to warrant replacing him.

Tied his boots on the right feet.

TBF I wouldn’t pick Rashford on current form anyway.

Anyone see the Australia Keeper in the Penalty shootout v Peru? Walks over to the Peru Keepers water bottle with all his notes about penalty takers on and chucks it away :emoticon-0102-bigsm
