When people stress about friendlies I always remember that Chris Hughton lost 0-6 in the last friendly before the Championship season started.

If they don't sign top players and we perform poorly, I think it would be very harsh to sack Howe.

I'm not as soft on Howe as others on here, but the board has a responsibility to improve the squad every season. We are seeing everyone around us doing it.
 
So the way I see this is Howe needs players.

The new guys are responsible for that.

If he doesn’t get them and we underperform then that’s not all Howes fault. So he’s got time.

If they give him Neto and Guehi he won’t have any excuses.

And if we do and he keeps playing Longstaff and Burn. He simply has to get sacked. If we start poorly.

But then the age old question…. who’d we want to replace him? That’s not an aggressive question, it’s a genuine one - I wouldn’t know who I’d see as a Newcastle type of manager … we need a Pep-Kev mix who doesn’t lean too far Pep-wise in the tip-tap stakes

I mean, Klopp’s a prick … but………… (wouldn’t happen anyway, but his style of football, minus the irritating scouse support, add the Toon support - could be gold

There's a few on here who would apparently do much better than Howe, so I say we give them a chance.
